Like i remeber a series would run all new episodes from sepeber to july just like the school season

but its not so anymore.

enterprise and buffy each had like 8-9 episodes and now its all into reruns

why, why, why, i want new shows not one new show and then it rerun for 6 weeks

REVENUE. Lately they have started the practice of airing the first-runs in sweeps months. The reason they do it is that, it is during sweeps that they set advertising rates. So they air first-runs to insure higher ratings, higher ratings insure their being able to ask more per 30 sec of commercial time.

so in others words to piss off everyone and fatten thier own wallets?

i mean i have been watching the news so much lately its not funny anymore, everythign besides news is reruns these days.

and even when you tune into a news station like CNN there is such a lack of news that even that is rerun

I'm so glad I don't have a tv...one less thing to get annoyed at.

:D

In a word, yes. There is a something that's should be mentioned though. Most of the shows these days cost ten's of thousands of dollars to produce, and that's without mentioning the stars salaries. So the networks, in order to maximize their income, started the practice of airing first runs in sweeps months and reruns in non-sweeps months. This allows for high budget shows like E.R., West Wing, Law and Order, Stargate SG-1(sorry my personal fav) to be continued.
