Why are Deplorables failing to save any Confederate monuments?

Just noting that two of the monuments that just came down in Charlottesville had nothing to do with the Confederacy. They came down for how they were perceived to treat native Americans.

Ah. Good point.

Yeah, what the hell happened with those who vowed to preserve the "proud heritage" of the Confederacy?

Are they just laying low (on the advice of their attorneys) until after sentencing for the January 6th attack ordered by their brain-washers? Why aren't they standing up for the "heroes" of their proud war to preserve slavery? What would Robert E. Lee do?

And what will happen in September when their cult leader is still unable to order the restoration of Confederate monuments? Will they just keep doing isolated chickenshit attacks every now and then, while spending 99% of their time on porn boards?

Well the non-confederate statues that were taken down DID depict racism and misogyny, so their removal is definitely something the Deplorables would be opposed to.

Deplorable's carefully constructed bogus history glorifying heroic, privileged, racist, misogynistic white males is steadily being demolished by decent progressive sensibilities.

FTW!!!

Well, yes. My point was that the monument take downs were broader than the thread title "confederate."

Truth can only be hidden so long. In a few more years...all Republicans that supported the Fascist traitor, will be outed as Fascist traitors themselves. Truth will not be denied

Because they are weak and ineffectual.

Most of 'em learned an important lesson on January 6th: it is far better to clutch their pearls and scream loudly behind the safety of an internet keyboard than to actually, y'now, do something.

They've become much more (online) vocal and angry since one of their own had her cap peeled that day. I'm just glad idiots like Bud, BoBo, vettebirther, AJ, et. al have zero impact on the real world and are stuck being internet Karens now.

I think, rather, they'll be saying they never backed Trump, and if they can still hold whatever seat they occupy, other Republicans will give them a pass and Democrats won't use any opportunities to pin them down on their prior affiliations.

That is the great thing about technology and the internet...once it is out there...it never goes away. They will be using the excuse it wasn't me...it was my twin that died

What i find interesting...for the most part it isn't southerners that are complaining...it is the racist northerners. Those with no stake in the fight. Why?

Yup. The older Deplorables absolutely do not understand this (yet), and the younger ones who get it underestimate its significance.

Some will let them off the hook, but most of the public will not.

The louder they scream and cry about the unfairness of the "scarlet letter", the more fun we'll have bringing up their old quotes and watching their relationship and job opportunities fade away.

Well, it's all symbolic. Tearing down a Confederate monument might be emotionally satisfying, but it won't create any jobs, fund any schools, or do anything to lift African Americans out of poverty. All that's going on here is that the liberal side has won a prestige competition, and a chance to get its way, by claiming some undisputable moral high ground, in a purely symbolic area.

What did they treat the native Americans with?

And by the way, I have traveled the Southwest quite a bit where tribes like to sell their wares, and they never, that I have seen, ever advertise as authentic 'native American" whatever.
What they sell is blankets made by Indians. Dolls made by Indians.

I think treating these people as heroic figures whose cause was at worst misguided has had a catastrophic impact over the decades. Better late than never, but it's definitely late.

They treated them to a subservient role on the statues, or so as perceived, although supporters of keeping the statues, like you, had their own agenda take to give.

Your expressed experience with native Americans is "precious." It's so you.
