Whilst lurking just now I had a forum experience I’d forgotten about, and realized I missed it.

No, it wasn’t Sher’s comparison of the end of Hamlet to the end of Gone with the Wind that did it, though I was sorely tempted to respond to some of the really stupid lines about Shakespeare. Not yours, Sher, I liked your analogy very much, and I already wrote to Shang how disappointed I was in its opinion of Lear (we are all made up kissy-kissy now if it matters to anyone else). Nor was it Joe W.’s dopey line about “that great modern wave of depression”. (Don’t ask me what irked, Joe, I’m not posting again for a while, not even to my own thread.)

People of the AH, I am posting cos Mab. made me laugh out loud (really loud, with some gut-level joy) re. Bela Lugosi’s patent-leather hair and his big-ass medal (on the Vampire thread). Thanks, Zoot, I just had to let you know.

Besides a few people (and they know who they are) it’s those unexpected laughs I miss most. But then—I saw Minge’s big bug-eyed alien monkey AV so I’ve got to log-off quick now.
