Why ABCs and not 123s?

Ever since I was informed that doing ABCs is a good way to practice your oral skills on a female, I've always wondered why people instruct ABCs instead of 123s? Hear me out. When you do your ABCs, eventually, you're going to run out of letters. But numbers, as we all know, go on forever. I personally just don't understand the logic.
