Pudgy 14-yr-old: "Well, the reason it's the U.S.'s fault (the WTC) got attacked is because we thought nobody could dent us."

Doesn't CNN have a height requirment for it's rides?

There's a lot more than one person in the world, including in the US, who feel that way. I'm sure he's just repeating what he's overheard somewhere.

You know, when a kid breaks a window, the parent has to pay for it. This kid's parents should be forced to be Interns on "Meet the Press".

One could often ask the same for Literotica but some slide under the bar all the time.

You make an excellent point though. It appears there is no limit to how low reports will go to get a quote...no matter how terrible it is.

LMAO

14 year olds

There is some question in my mind as to whether or not 14 year olds should ever be allowed to speak.

It is incredibly irresponsible for a journalist to use a quote from a child - especially since the 8th grader (or 9th?) is probably just repeating the ideas discussed among a group of his friends!

Such poor reporting - it's a shame the quality of news broadcasting and of the reporters themselves is not what it once was. If I hear another mispronunciation from an on-air personality I will most certainly scream!

P.C. - I like the heighth requirement comment, though - LOL

Bad side effects of the whole free speech concept eh? It means everyone has a chance to speak their opinion, no matter how ignorant it may be.

I was thinking more along the lines of The Anna Nicole Smith Show.

I just like the way you get all puffy over a comment that was obviously said tongue in cheek.

Puffy? You read so much into other people's words, it's somewhat amusing at times. I was actually making a comment based on Sarah's post, not yours.

Hey, PC!

It's also "requirement". If you're going to be anal, at least be thoroughly anal.

My secret nickname for her is Bungholio.

Freya -

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion - That wasn't my point.

I just have to chuckle about giving air time to children! I am an educator, have taught 6th grade through college, and I know that most 14 year olds are clueless about the world in general. Their immediate concerns are MTV, facial blemishes, and giggling about sex.

This isn't something for CNN - they could use a quote from the kid for a school paper or something. Not for national news - that IS irresponsible reporting.

Sorry, just the puffy comment made me chuckle. Must be reading all these fat vs skinny people threads today.

I have a 15 yr old, I know what you meant. I wasn't disagreeing with you, just being sarcastic.

That's the sweetest thing...

I can't help but think about what a "short trip" it is from 14 to 18 years old, but for some reason, 18 year-olds expect to be treated like they are suddenly intelligent.

:p
