Often easier to "excuse" such things if they are planned to coordinate with a related event -- anything smut-related happening? The annual convention of pornographers (Bring your own pornograph ). The conference of Exhibitionists Anonymous? The Republican National Convention? Somebody changing a flat on the Garden State?
