to remake The Music Man... and who the hell thought Matthew Broderick was right for Professor Harold Hill???... he reminds me of a chimpmunk. He doesn't look like he could mesmerize Donald Duck or Goofy, let alone a whole town... GEEZE!

I didn't watch it. I meant to, but, I forgot it was on until it was half over.

Must not have been too good, I see.

I love Matthew Broderick and his talent. However, I did not watch this because I cannot see him as being an effective Harold Hill. Not to mention that remakes usually suck.

However, I bet that gal that won the Tony two years back for playing Sally in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" was quite good.

Don't go by me Ezzie... I am incredibly hard on things like this... but in my opinion it's just awful....

But I am sure they will replay it at least once this year... Disney might as well get the money they spent on it back...:(

I don't know which one she is... the rest of the cast is fine... but this is a showcase for the performer who is Harold Hill... I like Matthew Broderick... one of my favorite movies is The Freshman... but this is just not his role...

You're probably right about them showing it again. I'll have to catch it next time it's on and see for myself.

She was Marian the Librarian. I saw her in Charlie Brown. Phenomenal.

I set my timer for this one, because I'm working tonight and I can't abide commercials.

I'm interested mostly in the differences between this production and the Robert Preston film.

I'll rejoin this discussion once I watch the tape.

Cool Phrodeau... Don't let me infulence you.... I just am a cranky bitch... Acutally the production numbers seem to be very much the same... of course I am not watching that closely...

I know I know!

Her name is Kristin Chenoweth. I saw her in Charlie Brown as well. Lovely voice.

It's on right now and my son is dancing around the living room having the best time.

"Mom, you have to see this! They're all dancing together! They must have practiced!"

What a delight. :)

Now thats sweet.. I am glad someone is enjoying it...;)

and you're all right about Kritsen Chenoweth. She is terrific.

It's so much easier to retell a story than to create a good new one. Sometimes it's a little less transparent, but this should be evidence ever for those with lackluster intellects than the vast majority of movies offered are produced primarily as vehicles to exhibit stars, not the putative story-telling.
