More or less than Albright?
albright wasn't a senator
I thought next year Hillary would no longer be a senator?
next year?
I think she has the opportunity to be the most influential Secretary of State since Baker.
I agree. Ironically, my first reaction was negative, I thought she could do far more in the Senate or as the head of DHHS. But after listening to the talking heads the past week or so, my opinion has changed. I guess I hadn't realized that she held such international stature.
What really excites me is her long-held stance on human rights. I'm looking forward to seeing what she will do with this appointment.
I actually hoped for it before it was rumoured. I initially thought DHHS until I heard Baucus was taking the lead on health care. I think Daschle will be better in that position and Clinton will make a great SOS.
See, this is why I'm not on the transition team. I also would have put Rendell at Commerce, but I know much more about his economic development efforts than I do Richardson's.
I've heard rumors about Rendell at Transportation; if the infrastructure initiatives become reality, it would be a good alternative.
I would like to see Dean have a role in the cabinet - I really wanted him at DHHS - but I think Daschle makes more sense, I suppose.
I am interested to see who will be put at EPA and as Secretary of Labor.
I think the chances of Clinton addressing the United Nations and giving evidence based on false intelligence reports are very small.

Who do you guys like for Agriculture?
This could be really important when we all have to start growing our own food again.

You just blatantly ignored my snark, didn't you? Be-yatch!That's a tough one, farming has become so much more business-oriented in the past few decades. It might be a smart budget move to eliminate the department altogether and put in under Commerce with someone from one of the agrarian states as a deputy sec.
In terms of growing ones own...ahh, never mind.
