Went out to a new karaoke show last night got drunk had a GRAT time!

My Question is, Do You Sing Karaoke tunes?
If So, then what is the song you sing that makes the room stop talking and halt drinking?

Sorry I don't do Karaoke.. I may be a Musician but I need that safety feature in front of me.. either a Guitar or my Drums.. I just can not sing without one of those infront of me to help block the flying fruit..

Hi RNA, I've been a lover of Karoke for many years, and have actually won a couple of competitions singing a certain song The song in question was the Brian Adams track from Robin hood, 'Everything I do, I do for you' and it's exactly how you discribed it, the room goes quiet and they listen.

It's quite a good feeling, knowing that the crowd is listening to your every word.

I do Karaoke from time time to time, my singing is not so great but what I do that really makes the room stop to listen is sing Wierd Al Lyrics to a song that no body expects them to be sung.

My latest favorite is The Saga Begins which is done to the tune of "American Pie" the original version

Another favorite of mine to do is sing Wierd al's lyrics to Living in the Fridge to the tune of Aerosmiths Living on the Edge.

Both of those usual everybody stops everything the place goes silent as you can hear a silent WTF hush over the audience till they figure out what words I actually am singing.

I LOVE karaoke... the thing about it is... even the most skilled of musicians cannot often "master" the "art" of this "activity."

It must be done right.

I often get attention by dancing and doing motions to the words... for example, a friend and I did "Leader of the Pack" last year on an outing and every time the motorcycle revving up sound came on (Vroom Vroom!) I would straddle my legs as if on a motorcycle and put my arms out and twist my wrist forward as if riding on one and then squat a few times... it was funny, haha.

(Shoot... now I miss my motorcycle... *sniff sniff*

I am a better backup singer than lead singer, but pour enough alcohol & I will sing, badly. I have a few friends who are really good singers, they have definitely mastered the art of karaoke. I love all the old girl group songs & when we do Leader of the Pack, I do the exact same thing that Jade does, but she probably does it better.

A musician has it worse, karaeoke singers are meant to be bad, that's the fun. I certainly have more nerves about performing something myself than if I can just mangle the words over some tape. But my finest hour of karaeoke has to be finishing of the night with my rendition of "Mambo No. 5" with expert trumpet mime.

Hey Jade, works for me. I'll sing back up any time. After this weekend of dealing with the media, I am ready to kick back & have some fun. We rededicated our Angel Garden yesterday & lots of media were there. My sweetie's back & behind made the front page of the Metro Section. All this is seen of me is my hands, he is hugging me after we lit a candle for Justin. Reunion sounds good, Ren faire as well. I am ordering my season tickets this week as our next Faire starts in April. I am so ready to play dress up!

Okay, since you really want to know: I do! I love it, go to a little club every Thursday night. Mostly I just enjoy watching my friends, but every now and then I get brave and hit the stage. It's a blast!

They sing a lot of country music at that place, which is not really my thing. The rap songs are usually very funny and entertaining, and will often get people dancing in their chairs and near the stage. Personally, I like rock. My friend sings Wild Cherry's song, Play That Funky Music White Boy (that may not be the correct title) and everyone loves that.
