Can you tell me who made this statement, and who he was talking about?
“I found him to be a vigorous, intelligent, surprisingly well-informed about the technical issues and in charge of the decisions about this country.”
That was Jimmy Carter talking about North Korean dictator and bomb-maker Kim Il Sung.
Now … let’s try again:
“… a man who believes in human rights. A great and courageous leader (who) has led his people and protected their freedom for the last 40 years.”
Jimmy Carter again – this time talking about Yugoslavia’s Communist dictator Marshall Titol
One more:
“Our goals are the same. We believe in enhancing human rights. We believe that we should enhance, as independent nations, the freedom of our own people.”
Carter yet once more. This time talking about Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu.
Now his latest hero is Fidel Castro.
Carter --- he never met a dictator he didn’t like.
