who on lit will defend the sniper?

I'm not a lawyer, but if I were, I reckon I would. His money is prolly green...

If I were an attorney and served in that jurisdiction and the judge assigned me to the case (cuz unless NOI pays for his lawyers, I doubt he'll be able to afford one) then yes, I would defend him. That would be my job.

The only thing I would like to know, "why didn't you kill me, fucker?"

I don't think the guy has got a hell of a lot of options as far as legal defense goes, unless their is some way for him to actually prove himself innocent through a technicality. I don't think it will happen though.

I had to delete my answer. It sounded too much like something Hannsie would have said. Can't have that now can we?

any lawyers out there up for the job?

I could never be a lawyer. I could never defend anyone unless I seriously thought that they were innocent.

hey woah, lets not be so harsh on Stalin, too many people, not enought resources, no matter what he does his people will starve and die, i think he handled it well, sure he bankrupted the country, but he fought a whole half the war, the ENTIRE eastern front was no one but the Russians, against germany anyway. i don't think we can bitch about him much.

anyway, not to take away from the sniper.

can you actually classifyhim as a sniper though? he's only got a gun, these aren't long range shots, if he were a sniper he'd be picking off from the top of an apartment building, half a click away, then he couldn't be caught.

I'm glad someone else said it first...

'cause I'm sure that there will be a clamour from the "Rights" group in the legal world to "ensure" that he has a fair trial. :(

If ballistics and other physical evidence match up - let us hope that Justice proceeds without too much Bravo Sierra from the muck-rakers.

Stalin, that wonderful Georgian monk... Yup sure did do a number on old Adolf - with lots of Allied materiel. Too bad that so much "collateral damage" was foisted upon his "own" people... ;)

Abosolutely. This one's winnable! Which one's Camera Three??

1. Perhaps he's bi-polar and had a psychotic episode....temp insanity, fully insane if we have to, but it'd be nice to shoot for a walk; a total victory at trial is always soooo suhweet when you're the underdog.

2. Perhaps serving in the Gulf War exposed him to chemicals or he has PTSS and then his marriage failed and the VA threw him out of rehab cuz they thought he was faking it...diminished capacity, government's fault, plus a civil suit afterwards. Book rights! A Lancecastor action figure!

3. Perhaps it's Chevrolet's fault for selling so many Caprices to law enforcement agencies over the years.

4. Perhaps the CIA has been remote controlling him via a chip up his ass. That's what the white van was about.

5. Perhaps he was brainwashed in Jamaica by a radical Islamic fundamentalist sect...ooops that makes him a terrorist in the USA, right? Uh, nevermind....

If they have a shot at a defence or circumstances to mitigate on sentencing my guess is it'll be grounded in one of the recognized capacity or sanity theories.

If I were a lawyer and if I did criminal trial practice....this one's a career-maker. I'd want it.
