Who Locks Threads - And Why?

The AH Mod is a really nice guy who has been in this forum for as long as I have. I've had several discussions with him. He has some Mod powers but most of the time, he checks with laurel for her input and authorization. So it isn't just his decision.

AH Mod is the guy on the left.

It's tri-focals you need, 'dawg, not bi-focals :).

I tried those. The pair of glasses cost a fortune. They made me puke for two weeks. No kidding. The world was spinning for two weeks. Gave them up. My wife wears them and loves them.

Priceless, Rusty. I laughed till I stopped! And look, some of our American colleagues have transatlantic cultural awareness - not bad when those dudes stopped cruising Vespas in about 1964.

Cue Quadrophenia!!

I was in San Francisco and I was a rocker, but I loved The Who.

Good man! My second fave band, after The Doors. Strange tastes, me, but there you are :).

Well, you better, you better you bet who my fav was. I was a Beatles guy, but I was playing in a San Francisco Sound band so surrounded by the music of the era.

May I brag without seeming like a totally, egotistical shit on here? I played the original Fillmore. The bill was the Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, and my band. We were the first guys on stage when there was no audience because everybody was outside smoking weed to get ready for the Airplane and the Dead. I think our entire audience was our girl friends and the folks setting up the refreshment stands. But we did play the Fillmore.

Maybe I'll write a story about that. Fucking in San Francisco during the Summer of Love was pretty hot. A lot of body hair, but hot. Maybe for the Summer Love Contest. Actually, thinking out loud, that could be perfect. Fucking in the Summer of Love. Hmmmm.

That's serious cred. Doesn't matter a fuck if no-one saw you. Playing support for Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead at the Fillmore is arriving before you departed. I only had records. Cudos, man :).

This is the author's hangout right? Maybe the powers that be should consider that we (the authors) provide the product - for -free - that they use to make this business run. Then they might be a little more tolerant of our views and desire to provide feedback - or rants - once in a while.

You're free to leave any time you want and also to take down all your stories as you see fit.

Bitching about a dead horse is not the thing to do. Personally, I don't care if you're upset about a rule here at Lit. It's not in my power to change that rule, so I don't care about your problem with it. Sorry, but that's like going to court about a traffic ticket and arguing with the judge that the speed limit should be higher in school zones. Pointless.

LOL. We have seen this one so many times before, haven't we, Zeb. After a while you just laugh. :D

The Who, The Doors, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Dave Clark Five even.

Then of course there were The Beach Boys, The Moody Blues, The Yardbirds, and The Zombies.

All those 'The' bands of the 60's and 70's.

I was wrong - again.

Lynn is not the AH Mod. She is a Mod in the writers exercise forum and others.

I have an idea of who the AH Mod is but I don't know for sure and I don't really care.

My original comment is now a perfect example of why you should read previous posts before writing your own. If I had I would have seen Lynn had already confirmed she’s not the AH mod and I would not have made a fool of myself. Again. The only saving grace is I’m not the only one who makes stupid comments.

To you and everyone where that music is your thing, I strongly urge you to read rock journalist Joel Selviin's new book, "Hollywood Eden" about the Los Angeles music scene, Jan and Dean, The Beach Boys, etc. during the '60s. He even works in Gidget and Nancy Sinatra.

I gave it to my wife for her birthday and read it. Talk about great writing. Every sentence is packed with interesting info. Great writing of a compelling story.

I highly recommend it.

With message board comments like this, who needs trolls and incels? A reasonably careful reader would note that this thread was about the premature locking of threads - and not about the Under-18 rule, which I now understand and accept.
