Who is your Litpoet of the year?

My choice is LeBroz

One of the nicest and loveliest people around, kudos to everything he has done for the board

This is for you, Leon

Ya know, there will be a Lit contest, or something like that, they have at the end of the year, or beginning, or something... like that.

AND, it usually serves to cause an amazing array of disharmony and bad feelings...

so, I will agree with you Vampire Dust, and say,

Leon, AND you, as you both have given so much of your own time in the interest of furthering poetry.

and Leon, WOW!! to be willing to invest yourself in the reading of ALL of the Literotica poems, well, you have my admiration there.

 to you both

and

:)

I love you both and so many others here who have done so much to help me!!

hugs

I'd have to say FlyGuy because he gave me the most useful feedback for revision on more than one occasion. Patrick also taught me a bit about writing poetry (though I still disagree with him on the subject of formal poetry). :)

Also, VampireDust, in a sense you are my Litpoet of the year because you contributed to my moving on from here. Thanks. It was for the best. :rose:

Dang I've missed so much!

Well, you did say of the year... my picks would be FlyGuy and WickedEve... only because... well, THAT year they helped/inspired me the most.

I haven't really been around much during 2006 though. *shrugs*

I agree. Leon... or you.

I second that. LeBroz and Vampiredust have both kept the forum going through thick and thin this year.

Well thanks but you should get the kudos. You do a yeoman's work submitting your own work and keeping the New Poems covered. Like I've said on more than one occasion, there were some weeks it seemed you were covering most days. Wednesday is enough for me ~ talk about picking the good day ~ it seems like it's the consistently lightest day of the week.

Don't gush too much there; I'm liable to embarrass myself.

There's a very selfish and practical reason to read all the poems. I'll probably learn more from reading the bad pieces than the good. I tend to stop and look at a bad piece more critically to see for myself what's missing that makes it not work. The good pieces are like antidotes to help recover from reading those bad pieces.

As for all those kudos, Christian can have 'em. Like I said, he's done a yeoman's job here on the threads, especially in covering the New Poems.

What would make me feel good is to be able to read some really good new poems, so poets ~ get busy.

I agree
and I agree that chris is up there as well, both have given a lot of time to the threads, poems and community this year (~_~)

I agree with the choice of LeBroz, who is always supportive and kind.

I also adore Man Ray who makes me think and enjoy the world.

It's impossible to settle on an individual. So many contribute so much to this forum in one way or another not to mention the "behind-the-scene" help in PMs and e-mail.

At the risk of sounding like a parrot my primary pick is vampiredust who continues to amaze and impress with the volume and caliber of his work.

I mention Labroz for his unfailing interest and thoughtful comments.

Angeline, Champagne, flyguy and TheRainMan for battling ill health and/or a heavy workload yet still managing to help other poets while keeping their fingers on the pulse in here and producing some awesome poetry.

SennaJawa for stretching our poetic thinking and standing on his principle as well as a few toes.

Cub4ucme for his toes.

I hate these kinds of threads because you just know you're forgetting some one –

Rybka and Tzara, our sober senior voices –
Anna, Maria and Boo for their original and sometimes controversial views on life –
MET for being unendingly encouraging even though he’s been vilified for it because we can’t all be Walt Whitman –
Eagleyez for starting my favourite – and for some reason – inspirational thread –
Tt2u for his encouragement in the time of my rebellious muse.

Finally, I'm glad lindiana mentioned ManRay - if she hadn’t I would have -because he persevered in the face of hostility and unpleasantness but seems to have given up, sadly.

I'm bound to remember someone I shouldn't have forgotten - I'll just have to modify.

Me dammit. ;) kidding

The same about risking to sound like a parrot, but vampiredust and LeBroz would be my choice as well, for all the reasons state above. Also, Tzara, for his Periodic Table poetry. Yikes! And he damn good job too!

I consider every poet who posts here to be my LitPoet of the Year. In your own way, each one of you has taught me something more about poetry, so thank you for that.

:rose:

Being a contrary sort of person, I would rather not name my favorite poet. For one thing, that ends up becoming not poet but rather poets and as Tess said, if you start to list them, you'll forget someone and make both them and you feel bad. So no favorite poet from me.

Instead, I would like to mention my favorite threads from the past year. For me, these were not only personally productive, but always interesting to read. So, in chronological order by creation date, here are my picks:
  • Senna Jawa's Lit Blog, where confession is not only good for the soul, it also makes for interesting reading.
  • Neo's hyper-productive 30 Poems in 30 Days thread, which even lured in some writers who don't normally hang in the PF&D and who all contributed very interesting poems.
  • Anna's 100 Words thread, my personal favorite writing exercise ever.
  • Calli's poetry workout thread, The Gymnasium, which finally gave me a place to put poems where I didn't feel guilty about editing, re-editing, and then deleting them without offending the rule Nazis in the commune.
Oh, one last thing. Tess made a mistake. I am most certainly not a sober senior. A hungover one, perhaps. ;)

Merry New Year, all.

If the question is who is my Lit-poet of the year, i.e., the poet that contributed more to make 2006 different (for the better) from the years before with his/her poetry, then I would probably have to nominate Tzara. I also appreciate the huge contributions put forth by Christian and Leon this year - the first mainly for his poems in the "all of a sudden passion suddenly" thread, the second for his comments on poems new and old - but Tzara's poetry just tickles me in a special way, and I believe it has tickled this community as a whole as well, this year.

i third that.

LeBroz and Vampiredust have been a wonderful presence in so many ways here this past year (along with Tzara, i think).

those three stick out in my mind as the real glue of the PF&D forum for 2006.

You dammit. And I'm not kidding. The proverbial whip of the 30 in 30 is the only thing that has managed to squeeze poetry out of me this year. Kudos.

LitPoet is the LitPoet Community

I know other have said it but I think I say it for different reasons.... or maybe not.

The Lit Poetry Community for me is the the Lit Poet/Poetess of the year. The reason I say this, is that despite it all, the little spats, intrigues, and all that, the community is still a rather good, very supportive, and caring one. Even those that have gone away and come back.... even briefly and those that are inconsistent about their presence, are (or seem) just as interwoven into the community as the bedrock poets that are consistently here. It seems to me that everyone makes the difference in forming a strong community.

I know it is corny and may be seen as a cop out... but this is my first year here and the community is what drew me here, put me at ease, and keeps me coming back.
