Who and why do you like them? What movie did you watch that brought out their talents to you?
Mine; Sam Elliot "You Know my Name"
Sharon Stone "The Quick and the Dead"
Clint Eastwood "The Unforgiven"
I have more, but these are a quick pick..:D

I really like Johnathan Rhys Meyers, particularly in Gormenghast. His character was fucking insane! I want to see the movie version of Titus Androticus to see if he was any good in that.

Carey Grant.

I don't remember the names of movies well, so I can't really name one.

the one that comes to mind first....

is Tim Curry. From the Rocky Horror to Legend, Annie to Home Alone (which I only watched for him), and everything else he's played in. He's a wonderfully versatile actor, who can manipulate his voice dramatically. I love his "evil" laugh most, and the way he enunciates each letter when he speaks.
There are others, like Sean Connery and Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan... but they're just talented eye candy *G*

Jimmy Stewart and Tom Hanks for the guys, for the women, it's hard to say though.

Well on the female scale I'd say Salma Hayek and Sandra Bullock two very good lookin women not really bothered bout their acting lol, but for male Actors I'd have to say Sir Sean Connery, a fellow countrymen and there has never been a better James Bond with a licence to thrill all you loverly ladies lol

Cary Grant and Clark Gable

Something about those two just gives me chills.

I am not sure I have just one of each that are a fave, but I have a list in no particular order:

Gregory Peck - great dramatic actor

Carey Grant - great comedic/drama actor

Kirk Douglass - great all around actor, both comedy and dram

Leslie Neilson - superb comedic actor, he really showed his true calling when he went to comedy.

Paul Newman - good at both comedy and drama

Mel Gibson - again, good at drama with a comedic twist. okay at comedy - his acting in 'Ransom' was good, but he was outstanding in 'Conspiracy Theory'

Tom Hanks - a wide range of good talent from comedy, to romance, to drama

Robin Williams - a good comic who is even better at drama than comedy - I have watched 'Bicentenial Man' about a dozen times and I cry every time.

Walter Matthau - only got better as he got older.

Pierce Brosnan - good in most everything - especially "The Thomas Crown Affair"

Steve McQueen - great drama, even good at comedy.

Sean Connery - although he had some real bad movies, especially that one western, and a couple of low budget poorly written sci-fi fantasies, that he really sucked in.

Anthony Hopkins, Spencer Tracy, Henry Fonda, Liam Neeson, Sam Neill, Sam Elliot, Tom Selleck, Jack Nicholson, and on and on. Yeah I didn't mention any of the newer generation, I think they need some time to mature and expand themselves. They often don't seem to have the range others have and don't quite impress me as much as the classics. Most of these people I like regardless of what they are in. I do like a lot of other actors, but not so much that I would watch them regardless of the movie

Women:

Of course Natalie Wood. :p
Ann Margaret
Daryl Hannah
Meg Ryan
The Divine Miss M (Bette Midler) - btw, I never really like Bette Davis or Joan Crawford, I just could never get past their bitchy attitude or looks! Better Davis did do some good rolls when she was really old though.
Renne Russo
Sela Ward
Salma Hayek
Aurdrey Hepburn
Mia Sara
Isabella Rossellini
Meg Tilly

These people were such naturally great actors, they never seemed to be "acting":

Jack Lemmon
Gene Hackman
Ingrid Bergman
Jane Fonda
Jimmy Stewart
Tom Hanks
Natalie Wood
Anthony Hopkins
Robert DeNiro

Overall, I'd have to say Jack Lemmon is my favorite.

I tend to enjoy the work of character actors and supporting players.

A few that I like to see in a movie....

JT Walsh
Harry Dean Stanton
Luis Guzman
Chris Cooper
Don Cheadle
William H. Macy
John Goodman
John Cusack(getting better all the time)

...

Joan Allen
Sigourney Weaver
Julianne Moore
Suzy Amis
Anjelica Huston
Rosanna Arquette
Lena Olin (Mrs. Olin...please do more work)
Mimi Rogers
Helena Bonham Carter

nicole kidman- very sexy, great actress in every movie i have seen her in, very respectable

Jack Lemmon
Walter Mathau
Robert DeNiro
Al Pacino
Anthony Hopkins
Tom Hanks
Dennis Quaid
Bruce Willis
Sean Connery

Meg Ryan
Julia Roberts
Sandra Bullock
Ann-Margaret
Sophia Loren
Daryl Hannah
Demi Moore
Cameron Diaz
Bette Midler

Carey Grant
Katharine Hepburn

Best comedy ever made: Bringing Up Baby

I can watch that once a week and LMAO... Grant in that negligee and all the chattering by Hepburn while she drives him insane...just can't be beat.:)

Cassidy

Here's looking at you, kid. . .

Audrey Hepburn (Breakfast at Tiffany's; Roman Holiday, etc.)

Humphrey Bogart (Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, etc.)

I have to agree with Hotti... Tim Curry is the most amazing (and sexy) Man. I loved him in the 3 musketeers. I think his smile can melt me in my shoes. He plays a good villain.

Al Pacino (Godfellas!)
Robert de Niro
Anthony Hopkins
Val Kilmer (too sexy...)

So incredibly true! I watch it all the time.

My favorite actor? Kevin Spacey. I would name a movie, but they're all examples of his excellence. Okay, Swimming with Sharks was awfully good.

Actress? Would have to be one of the Hepburn ladies, or Bacall, or, Bergman. I don't know many female actresses today that could compete with that type of class.

Katherine Hepburn - anything with Spencer Tracey and Lion In Winter in her later years.

Audrey Hepburn- Breakfast at Tiffany's

Anything of Ingrid Bergman's, especially Casa Blanca

Emma Thompson

Helena Bonham Carter

Sigourney Weaver

Gotta go with Wolf,

Katherine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn. Though if you asked me what actress I want to bring to bed with me, it would be Julia Roberts.
