my favorite is STAN HANSON.the best is ANDRE THE GIANT.no one could lace up his boots.

Wohoooooooo Ambros is THE man!!! 'Superspermman'

Abdul the Butcher from the early 70's. Billed as hailing from the Sudan, I always assumed he worked the night shift at the GM Flint plant. Pampero Firpo, Flying Fred Curry, Bobo Brazil, The Sheik. Now that was rasslin'

The best modern wrestler is Jeff Van Gundy. His Alonzo Mourning Leg Hump was stunning.

Those guys are pussies...

Compared to my super sperm.

Da Da DUH!

what did you say Tony.........It doesn't matter what you said Tony the Rock says this "Even Bruno Sammartino can smell what the rock is cooking" LOL......I personally have no stake whatsoever in this thread other than my little joust above......hehe

It is so hard to pick one wrestler as the all time best. there is somuch to base it on. Skill, mic, personailty, stlye, duration of career.

Andre the Giant was a class act, one of the nicest men I ever met. I met him back in the 70's when I worked for a wrestling promoter. Abdullah the Butcher & Killer Karl Krupp were major nutcases & the women wrestlers were rude as could be to us. I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the Fabulous Moolah, she was teh biggest bitch I think I ever met. Probably because we were all in high school & college. Of all the wrestlers I met, the only one who truly scared me was The Sheik. He carried those damn snakes everywhere. Wrestling has always been popular in Texas, I met several of the so-called dynasties. The Von Erich kids were all arrogant & David Von Erich used to pinch my ass when his dad wasn't around. The Funks were all older & kind of looked after us & wouldn't let the other wrestlers use bad language. I hadn't thought of some of these people in years, except for Andre the Giant. I loved him in "The Princess Bride."

Trying to name the best wrestler of all time is like trying to name the most influential person of all time like TIME magazine does. It's pointless and completely subjective. There are however several wrestlers who stand out in my mind as giving so much to the industry.

Andre the Giant
Hulk Hogan
Mick Foley
El Santo
Mitsuhara Misawa
Tiger Mask
Dynamite Kid
Bret Hart
Steve Austin
Triple H

There are probably many more, but those are just a few I could think of that stand way above the rest...

Don't you mean who's the best wrestling writer of all time? Those are the guys who do all the winning and losing. It's like saying who's best at being the President of the United States, Dana Carvey or Will Ferrell?

As a life long wrestling fan, I would say Ric Flair. Guy showed just last Monday that he could make one EXTREMELY lackluster show entertaining, heh, just like he did for most of his career.

Other favorites of mine:
Brian Pillman - how great was he? even after his injury, he was still great. Left us too damn soon.

Owen Hart - This is a damn shame. Amazing wrestler never given his proper due. Always in the shadow of Bret, but I believe, if given the chance, he could have easily outshined his brother. Like Pillman, Owen left far too soon.

Chris Benoit - Need I explain this one at all?

Triple H - Ditto above.

Arn Anderson - The Enforcer. It frankly hurts me seeing WCW use Arn they way they are. Back in his day, no one would mess with Arn, now he shows up every month and gets beat up. This is in no way the Arn of old. Great on the fly interviews, too.

Jake Roberts - You know, before cocaine really got to him. Great psychology, in the ring and in his interviews.

Vader - Best big guy ever, IMO...then again, I was always a huge Vader fan, so I'm very partially. Stiffest variety of powerbombs I have ever had the pleasure to see(nevermind that sweet powerbomb Sid gave to HHH in the mid-90s).

Ricky Steamboat - This is one guy that everyone has overlooked so far. Nearly all of his matches were great. From Savage to Flair, 5 star matches. This guy never gets credit, either. Very underrated, and he's one of the most praised guys around. That's saying a lot.

The Great Muta - This guy rocked my world when I first saw him in WCW. Brought stuff to the states that we hadn't seen before.

Jushin "Thunder" Liger - Yeah, yeah, he's just a clone of an older Japanese wrestler, much like Benoit is a Dynamite Kid(who's on the list as well, I just won't list him) and Tajiri is a Mutoh clone, but Liger's still great and is a legend. His Ligerbombs are just the coolest things around.

Andre the Giant - He was just great. I saw him live a few times when I was much younger and this was well after his hey-day, remember when he teamd with Haku? That's when I saw him. He was never the best at any given thing...except entertainment value. The man could just entertain like no one else could. He looked like he was having a blast out there...especially the match I saw againt Demolition. That was a classic. And I agree, he was awesome in Princess Bride.

A couple of tag teams as well

The Dudley Boyz - No, I'm not talking about the watered down babyfaces of the WWF. I'm talking baout the HUGE heels of ECW. You can talk about Rob Van Dam, Raven, Taz, etc etc, but it's when the brothers from Dudleyville left the promotion that ECW really hurt. Sure they lost Taz at the same time, but ECW needed the Dudleyz and they still haven't recovered since.

The Road Warriors - Yes, their last stint in the big time..well..sucked, but the RWs of the 1980s-early 1990s were solid gold. Good ole Vince had to screw them up, of course, but these guys will always be remembered fondly.

OOOOOOOOOOOO What a rush................those guys were the coolest thing since sliced bread when they were out the LOD, take no prisnors and the Hawk and Animal-mania.

Anybody remember George 'The Animal' Steel or Chief Jay Strogbow?

As far as tag teams, yes the Road Warriors were good but I think the best and most hated was the old team of Mr.Fuji and Toru Tanaka. They devastated the wrestling world. Not even the combination of Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales were able to defeat them for the title.

Remember Dick the Bruiser???

I have always loved the fight between good and evil, going back to the late fifties. Problem is I can't remember anyone back then except Dick the Bruiser, Wilbur Snyder, Verne Gagne. I also liked Roddy Piper and the Shiek.
These guys today are good, they're just way too smooth. It's sorta like comparing early R&R to modern snthetic music today.

Not that he's my favorite personality, it's probably Kurt Angle, he would probably beat all of the current superstars in a real wrestling match. Personality wise I like Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I love the Undertaker. American Badass!

Kane can be cool, and he has my favorite entrance. I find Randy Savage to be very entertaining as well.

I'll have a can of ice cold STEVEWEISER

The Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin .

Ok, My fav. wrestlers, <and whom I think are the best>
The Rock <gorgeous, knows how to move, shows real wrestling style, and looks like my hubby>
Mick Foley <of course, that sock puppet jaw cracker thingy was the best (can never remember the name of it)>
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin--Now there was a wrestler who didn't give a crap about who he was hurting or interrupting. He was out for the sheer joy of hurting someone. ANd of course, his flair for scaring the shit out of people.
The Undertaker, of course, who can ever forget those coffin matches????
the Undertaker's little brother<or at least someone told me he was> Kale or something like that--big guy, long hair, red and black outfit with a full mask-just as intimidating as the Undertaker<wwf of course>
That really big guy, I cannot remember his name, first he and the Rock fought each other, then they teamed together against HHH, then of course he got a better from HHH---God, what was his name?

BEAT ME IF YOU CAN....SURVIVE, IF I LET YOU

TAZ---by all means.
Rob Van Dam,of course, comes a close 2nd.
