I can't afford the ever increasing price of movie tickets...so I'll get the bootleg Monday.

Who here has seen it? Impressions?

I saw it Saturday and I liked it. That boy playing Spidey is too damned cute for his own good. Great special effects. The Green Goblin is a little over the top at first, but he grew on me. Did I mention the special effects? Those were great. I'm not a big comic fan so I don't know how true the movie is to the comic, but it was entertaining. It had a campy comic feel, but that's pretty much what I was expecting. There are some great character moments, and I may not have mentioned this yet, but the special effects kick ass.

I'd go see it again. In fact, I intend to next weekend. :)

I liked it...my brother is an avid Spidey fan....and even *i* know that spidey's webbing wasn't included with the spider bite....he added that...Bionic

I personally didn't go see it this weekend but alot of people must have. Just saw on Yahoo that this weekend's estimated box office take for Spiderman is gonna be up around 114 million dollars.

Bionic? Not quite...

You see... Peter Parker, in addition to being a photographer, was also a fairly good chemist. He made up his webbing solution to be strong as stell yet dissolve in like 2 hrs (which onc e made for a cool bondage scene with MJ). He then put it into canisters and createed his webshooter, which had a spinnerette which could change from shooting a straight web, to a net, to other designs. However, they aren't bionic, which means he could leave them at home and stuff.

okok...i know but what i was pointing out, was that the webshooters....didn't come with the bite!:p

I wonder...was peter parker naked under his support hose...i swear in one sceen it looks like his a$$ swelled up like twice its size

The bite was also from a radioactive spider... not genetically altered.

I took my kid out of school early on Friday to go to the matinee - he's a big Spidey fan - we both cried when Uncle Ben died. That was sad. But other than that, we give it two thumbs up, way up!!!

i was never a comic geek, and am always weary of the films. i loved this cartoony deal though. kirsten dunst is such a cutie. total girl next door looking. plus, i'm biased 'cause it was filmed largely in my neighborhood. at one point in the flick there was a shot right outside the teatrr we were sitting in. the crowd all chered. cheesy? yes. but still fun.

Sam Raimi is still my hero, never failing to add cheese when he has the opportunity to.

Love the old skool nikes'

So any impressions of "The Hulk" teaser?

That the spider bite may have given peter the subconscious urge and knowledge of producing his trademarke web fluid...can't wait for X-Men 2....

Loved the movie, hated the love story. Although Kirsten Dunst was a hottie. The Hulk movie has great potential ... with today's special effects it should blow the old tv show out of the water.

Anyone else think they are making a mistake by making a Daredevil movie? A Fantastic Four movie would be a much better special effects showcase.

Who should be the supervillian for the next Spiderman? My favorite is Kingpin, although I suspect it will be Dr. Octopus. I hope Galacticus makes a cameo, although I doubt it.

juggernaught or venom.

Sw it yesterday

I liked it a lot. Toby Maguire makes a great Spiderman and he is cute as hell.

I like the way they did the CGI for his swinging around the city.

Juggernaught is more...

of an X-Villian tho he has made appearances in Spidey...Venom is almost a Shoe-in in my mind because the Kingpin will be featured in the Daredevil movie (which I think has the potential to be a lot more serious than Spidey, in the comics Daredevil was at his best when he was at his darkest almost reminscent of Batman)

Apparently Marvel has a barrel full of movies coming out FF included...

I loved the movie all the way around....LOVED LOVED LOVED it. It really felt like the comic come to life and I've been a reader of Spidey on and off for nearly 20 years. Raimi has worked magic....

JJJ was spot on...harry was great...DaFoe as the goblin - HELLS yeah....
Tobey couldn't have been better...

As for the HULK.....it'll be big and loud and fun and I can't wait. But that teaser leaves me with one bad impression. I don't mind some rewritting of the facts (ex: MJ instead of Gwen). But to imply that banner liked being the HULK? That's a serious rewrite of the whole phychology of the character...isn't it? I haven't picked up a HULK comic in a long time but I remember the struggle against that uncontrollable anger come to life as being the whole crutch of his story...
I have faith in Ang Lee and every since I saw Chopper I have no doubt that Eric Bana can bring some real life to that character .....I look forward to this one alot.

It was pretty cool. The CG looked a bit choppy in areas, and, the ending was kinda implausible,(the critic in me is saying that,)but, all in all, it was a damn good movie.

the climax or the ending, nasty? (the end fight or the end movie?)

i liked spiderman a lot. Willem Dafoe scared the hell out of me - i found him to be very creepy. there was only one part i couldn't watch, and that's b/c i'm scared of spiders - when peter gets bit by the spider. had my eyes covered for that whole sequence. :)
the music is okay, kinda weak... the action sequences are cool, but sometimes hard to really see b/c it goes by too fast (also could have been the result from sitting in the second row near the aisle) i was actually pleasantly surprised by tobey maguire's performance - it was actually good. and i absolutely loved the cameos by bruce campbell and ted raimi. some of the dialogue was very weak, but overall a good movie. Sequel is set for 2004 :)

DareDevil is already in production with Mr. Affleck....yeah I know. The Hulk is almost done with principal photography. FF in Development still. Stan Lee has the deal with Sony because he needs to generate revenue because of the whole Stan Lee Media inc. fiasco. X-2?......My brother, its gonna hurt ya. But Mr. Singer and Lauren are in Quebec now trying to make an effort this time for the purists.

I like the angle "The Hulk" teaser is taking, with the whole idea that the Hulk is Dr. Banner's id, so yeah he can embrace being the Hulk. At least its not the Gray Hulk, with the bad haircut, or Lou Ferrigno in a polyester wig.

re: x-2

i'm actually looking forward to x-men 2. i liked the first one - except for storm, but then i've never liked her. i like fun movies like x-men and spiderman and the scorpion king - movies that don't make you think. and i'm not enough of a comic book fan to know the universes the movies are based on. *shrugs* it will be interesting to see what other comic book movies are made in years to come.
