Another thread has me curious. Has anyone here been through any proven methods of determining ovulation? What day AFTER the start of your menstrual onset did you ovulate most typically? What did your doctor(s) teach you about your most likely time to become pregnant?

I'm currently undergoing fertility treatment. I started off keeping track of when I was ovulating using a thermometer, but that quickly got to be a major pain in the butt, but I still kept at it until he put me on clomid, and now I can feel my ovaries kickin in to high gear. It usually happens 2-3 days after my period ends.
Doc didn't teach me much of anything, he just wrote out the prescription, and when I wasn't pregnant after 3 months, he upped the dosage of the clomid. This is month 5 and I have to take a pregnancy test again in the morning before I can start another round of provera and clomid again. *Hoping it's positive*
No one ever warned me about the side effects of this stuff. I don't regret doing it, and I'll keep doing it until something works but I wish I had been more prepared for it. Like stocking up on a years worth of Midol

I've had some fertility testing and done a bit of reading on the subject.

In my experience, the best method is to get in tune with your cervical mucus cycles.

Right after your period ends, the mucus is cloudy and milky. The closer to ovulation you get, the mucus becomes clearer and more elastic. Right before ovulation, the mucus will be the clearest and most elastic (a bit of it should stretch between your thumb and finger to the length of about an inch and a half).

And then, boom, after ovulation ends, the mucus becomes cloudy again.

I swear, I wish they'd teach this in high school health. I had no idea about rthyms of my body and how it functioned until I was trying to get pregnant.

How odd, when a man is more likely to knock a girl up, his cum is either cloudy or pure white. When he's not, it's clear.

(yes, this post is mostly to juxtapose avs)
