Who Has Been To Chat: Part II

Okay, now that we have established who here has gone to chat (just as we've established who from chat comes to the BB), it is time for a new question. How many of you here have tried Lit's voice chat thingy? Today Ravenloft and I ventured that way, but we couldn't get it to work for us. So, I was wondering if anyone else has ever noticed the voice chat access, has tried it, and if it did or did not work for them...

I couldn't get the voice thing to work, either. Not that there are that many people in the chat room that I know to talk to.

I tried it...

It was working poorly at my end and not at all on the other persons end.
So we gave it up as a bad job and went to Voice on Yahoo IM.

I think they may have put a different program on now, instead of the one I was attempting to access.

Can anyone offer up some advice for Ravenloft and myself on alternatives for voice chat? We've tried Yahoo, and for some reason it doesn't acknowledge his mic & speakers.

Has he run the set up wizard?

If he has, double click the volumne icon in the task bar, then go to options if the mic volume is not shown, click to show then make sure it is muted.

Also make sure that he is not running another prog that uses the sound card and speakers.

If all that doesn't work Paltalk.com has an IM. Some say Firetalk is a good one, The one I use for video chat is MSN with Netmeeting.

Thanks Ez. I'll have to check and see what all he's done lately. I've been able to have sound at AOL, etc., and still use voice chat at Yahoo just fine though...

Someone else has already said this but, Xander told me of a place called Firetalk, or you could maybe try Paltalk, which my Mum installed but never used so I can't help you out with that.

Shit just noticed he said both of them. If it helps, the person that invited Mum to Paltalk said it's the best thing he has ever done.

Maybe I should try it and stop getting phone bills at the amount they are.

I tried the voice chat thing of lit, it worked fine. But maybe you should try firetalk Tiggs..The sound his great, they have forums too. You can talk and invite friends, IM etc..
