Oh, those pop up on occasion. It's a really poorly executed scam. Unfortunately some folks have been duped. I hadn't heard anything for awhile. I guess they're recirculating.

I get at LEAST one in one of my various email accounts at least once a day.

Though usually it's an oil company in Nigeria, or bank in Cote' d'Ivoire, or plantation in Mozambique... "sobsobsob help me get my money out of Africa where I'm alone and surrounded by enemies who killed my parents, or I have no one to give my dead client's money too, or this was swindled from teh government I need your most trustworthy help to get it out of the company... blahblahblahblaaaah... yaddayaddayadda..."

It's just a variant of the "Nigerian Scam" (go to http://www.snopes.com if you want more info).

I even get them on my MySpace acct...

I only have 2 email accounts and no MySpace thing. the Nigerian guy... he's a hoot.

I had the misfortune of being at the bank one day, when some woman came in with a cashier's check and letter... she fell for the scam and really thought she was going to get $10,000 for sending some Nigerian Prince $100. It took the clerk, the floor manager, and the branch manager all saying the same thing, to finally convince her it was a scam.

Should I edit her email address out of that post?

I get spam e-mail's like this all the time! Look at the header it's usually sent to 50 or 60 people at once! I can't believe some people actually fall for this crap! But like the old saying goes ....There's a sucker born every minute.

If you're calling me a sucker the words "good cock" better be in front of it.

aaaaaaaahahahahhahaa

I got a similar one the other day from a Lady somebody or another.

Ahh, yes, the 419. Some people get scammed...and then there are some people who correspond with the scammers, and mess with their heads. Some of these emails back and forth are documented here: http://www.419eater.com/

Unfortunately it only seems to work in IE; or at least it doesn't work in my Firefox tab.

I post in random people's website guestbooks just so I can bait those guys into emailing me. They get most of their target emails from guestbooks... I once got two of them to argue with each other over who I was going to help, and kept it up for almost a week before I got bored.

Lisa

I get garbage like that all the time. That's why I have a very warm and close relationship with my delete button.

Push it!

Push that thang!

Yeah!

They must think your not only a nice sadist but a soft touch lol, simple rule if it sounds to good .....it is, my one was some king mumblywumbly got killed in a plane crash and he owned fucking millions and all i had to do was say i was a relative, i fucked up tho.. couldn't spell the name..........lol

Actually this scam reminds me a bit of a guy who I chatted with occasionaly on YIM. He was friendly, but boring. He usually IM'd me, to tell the truth. Ocassionally he'd act like he wanted to cyber, but backed off when I told him I was going to put him on ignore if he didn't get a grip.

Then about a year and a half ater we started chatting he started giving me some sob story about something happening to his business, and he was bankrupt, etc., etc.. I was semi-sympathetic until he asked if he could store some of the stuff from his store at my house.

On top of the fact that this would have raised alarm bells anyway, this conversation happend within months of 9/11. He went straight to ignore, and has stayed there.

Used to get them daily. Still get at least one per week, always from a different country, but sometimes using the same name, LOL.
