Who Do You Admire?

Different parts of lots of people in my everyday life. I admire the Prophet (P.B.U.H) a lot as well.

past or present?

Past, my Great Grandparents.

Present, my Brother.

James Joyce

He forged in the smithy of his soul the uncreated conscious of his race.

And he lived what was by all accounts a comfortable life, without a lick of income from his writing. But he believed in himself as did other people. I admire that kind of self confidence.

I admire a long time friend of the family.

She never went to college. Got a job at IBM. Became an executive at 30. Retired at 50 and now has another career as a marketing consultant.

She has had everything she has ever wanted. Anything that seemed out of reach made her work even harder for it.

I truly admire her for all that.

There's a thread for you. An av in no time, hon.

For me, it's my sister. She went through more years of school than I can fathom for her PhD. She is incredibly intelligent.

My aunt. She was a civil rights attorney for many years, now she's a 'senior' model/actress, and runs amazing empowerment workshops for women in the second half-century of their lives. She's the coolest woman on the planet.

Politics:

Friedrich Hayek
Ludwig von Mises
Thomas Jefferson
Alexis de Tocqueville
Thomas Paine
Patrick Henry

Science:

Ludwig von Bertalanffy
Stephen Hawkins

This doesn't mean that I agree with everything they said, wrote or did - but that overall these people understood the "big picture". In short, they got it. There are a lot of very smart people, there are a lot of very good people - but there aren't a lot of smart, good and wise people.

In almost equal amounts, mi madre & padre. (Mom gets a little edge because, well, she's mom.)

I admire my mother for putting up with my father.

I admire my friend T.

She has had a lot of adversity in her life, but she keeps going and amazes me everyday not only with her strength, but her compassion, grace, and desire. She is truly a beautiful woman inside and out.

My Mother and her Mother. Both very loving, strong women. Neither had an easy life, but they made the most of it and found contentment.

My grandmother was widowed in 1936. Lived in a small town and had 4 children.

My mother died in her sleep at 60. She gave us a safe, loving home and a place to stretch our wings and dream. She was earthy and funny. I hope I can give my child that.

Just to embarass her, I'll confess to admiring Perky.

I admire old people who can still tell a good tale. It's like listening to a living encyclopedia, it's the best.

Model Patricia Ford. I think she is very pretty and sexy. I like to think that I am as sexy as she is. I idolize her so much that I used her name and birth date as my Literotica ID. Click on my profile for the 4 things I have in common with Patricia Ford.

I admire my mom and grandma, my best friends, and the guy I'm falling for.
