A tossup between Keanu Reeves (wooden) and Kevin Kostner. Both movie starts - not actors.

Worst actress - I have to say Melanie Griffith. That whiny voice!

Daniel Baldwin..he's a parody of Alec

There's one woman who was on ER when I used to watch it long ago...Kelly something I think...she always plays a naive young woman thrust into a real world situation, like being a doctor, or a social worker..so on and so forth...her idealism tempered by real world experience etc....I can't stand her

Jennifer Lopez is one of the worst actresses ever...without her, The Cell becomes a decent movie

Keanu Reeves and Melanie Griffith top my list, too.

Tom Cruise is generally awful, too, although he wasn't bad in Interview With a Vampire.

Me, I'm pretty bad. Should have seen me in "It Blows Like a Mother!" That was mine and FG's remake of Gone With The Wind. Pretty stinky.

Having just seen

First Knight, I'd have to vote for Richard Gere. OMG, did he ever suck! Every time he gave that oh-so-smug head nod, I prayed for King Arthur to have a vision of the future, and cut him down where he stood.

As for worst actress... if you can stretch the definition enough to include Pamela Sue Anderson, she would get my vote.

Edited with EXTREME em-bare-ass-ment. D'oh!

i dont like alec baldwin he's an awful actor i got so annoyed when i realised it was his voice over in final fantasy movie :) .... wasnt it richard gere in first knight ? ... i dont like him either or kevin costner

I have to agree with Kevin Costner or Keanu Reeves for worst actor, but the worst actress I can think of right now would have to be Catherine Zeta-Jones. Why oh WHY is everyone so enamored of her? Yes, she's beautiful, but my left nostril can act better than she can!

Casper Van Diem, and Melanie (Even if I'm her cousin, she can't act, and shows her boobs too much).

You know who I absolutely love, though, is Stephen Dorff. He's highly underrated. He was in "The Power of One," and "Blade." and a movie with Melanie Griffith that I can't remember right now.... damn, but it was good. Cecil B. Demented! That's what it was called!

I can't think of a single actor named above that hasn't been good and at least great in more than a number of projects, despite occasional misses, so I don't think any qualify for "worst" actor working today. (By the way, I don't include Pamela Anderson in this opinion, because I'm unwilling to stretch the definition of "Actress" to fit her. I also don't include anyone who doesn't claim to be an actor in the first place, like Rob Schneider.)

To be the "Worst" you have to be bad all the time, particualry when you think you're being good all the time. Eric Roberts fits that category (even if counting "Runaway Train" which is an excellent film).

Peter Fonda is absolutely on that list. I doubt any of you without kids saw "Thomas and the Magic Railroad", but it's worth seeing just to see on of the worst bloody awful peformances ever given by a known actor. It was as if Fonda thought they weren't really filming, but were just "doing one for the lighting" or something. (On the other hand, Alec Baldwin is wonderful, playing just the right amount of charm and simplicity for the four year old set, not something easy to do.)

I'd also say Candice Bergen, but she's not performing much these days. She can yell, and that's about it.

Denise Richards is pretty bad. It isn't so much that she can't act, it's just that she doesn't really even try. At least with Jennifer Love Hewitt you get a furrowed brow every now and then, but Denise just seems to be concentrating on hitting her marks, and leaves very little room for any sort of internalizing.

I couldn't agree more, Keanu is so wooden that every time I see him I want to reach for the woodwork tools and turn him into something more useful, Kostner is so far up his own ass I can''t stand to watch him for more than ten minutes, he has three expression's and that's all, once he's used all three in a movie he's fucked.

Melanie is just a non-starter as far as I'm concerned.

DCL

I can't think of a where Costner was good, much less great. I love some of the movies he's starred in, but the guy can't act.
I saw The Untouchables for the umpteenth time last week, and in one of the final scenes where he and Capone are nose to nose, Ccostner seemed to be in la-la land.

Costner is not an actor, he is the same person each time, and it's probably his real personality..the aw shucks idealistic middle aged guy with a dream..how many movies is he that guy or someone close to it?

he has the acting skills of a high school play actor, but he's good looking and charming enough to get what he wants

I can't stand Brad Pitt, but only cause he's a pretty boy.

I can't stand Don Johnson because his leering visage in full Miami Vice regalia was taped to the ceiling at my very first gynecologist appointment. It is humiliating enough to have a 67 year old man poking around your vagina without Don Johnson grinning through the whole microscopic inspection. Though he does drive a hemi in Nash Bridges...

I absolutely cannot tolerate anything with Tom Green in it. Tom Green is equivalent with Carrottop who has nothing going for him.

I can't stand Jane Fonda. But that's all politics. I've never actually seen anything with her in it, since she is a banned person at our residence.

I can't stand Melanie Griffith either. What's with that grunting thing she's always doing?

I like Steven Segal, but only because I'm a fan of mindless violence, but he can't act to save his life. He's worse than Costner for being the same guy all the time.

MALE: Vince McMahon, owner of WWF/WCW (he tried to convince the fans that he was having an affair with much younger and hella sexy, Trish Stratus. Instead, it made me want to throw up at the thought.)

FEMALE: Susan Lucci

KM, I can't agree with you abour Pitt, he maybe a pretty boy but the pretty boy can act, BTW you sould see him in "Snatch" he ain't so pretty in that............."I fucking hate pykies"

How can you dis Keeanu Reeves?

:p

I totally agree with you on Catherine Zeta-Jones! She is on the top of my list, since I don't consider Pamela Anderson as being an actress.

Top list for male actors would be Kevin Costner or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

How could you all forget Pauley Shore? or does he not ever make the list for actor?

I don't think much of Keaneuuuuuuw Reeves, but he was ok in "River's Edge", although I'm not sure if he was acting, he was playing a teenage doper.

KM, for what it's worth, Brad Pitt was not pretty in "Kalifornia" (at least not to me)

hmmm...

Film actors: Daniel Baldwin, Joey Stallone, Richard Gere, Kevin Costner (with the qualified exception of Bull Durham), Warren Beatty (should have retired a longish while ago), Crispin Glover, Ben Stiller.

Film actresses: Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Elizabeth Berkeley, Tea Leoni, Rebecca Gayheart, Gwenyth (one note) Paltrow, Madonna.

TV actors: Ray Romano (sure, he's a lousy actor, but at least he was an unfunny comedian), Ted Danson, Ian Ziering, Brian Benben, Ted McGinley, Tony Danza.

TV actresses: Jennifer Love Hewitt (hate her so much, I'll say it twice), Maria Bello, Joan Rivers (bad job impersonating a human), Tori 'my daddy didn't get me the job' Spelling, Christine Elise, Amanda Bearce, Dixie Carter.

I'm not critical or anything.
