White Trash Fusion Cuisine

What the fuck is toad in the hole?

I knew someone would ask. It's an English delicacy (?) with pork sausages in a pudding batter baked in the oven.

I once gave the "White Trash Cookbook" to a friend as a joke. Have you seen this thing or any similar?

Of course, the staple is white bread and mayonnaise!

Not mayo, hon...Miracle Whip.

There's a difference.

You are so right, Piper! I love this thread. I think I may have to get this cookbook. Actually I am a gourmet cook but I have a lot of friends (and an occasional lover) who would think that book is a hoot!

and it's pretty much a given....anything that has to be served in a pyrex dish....swaddled in a groovy pyrex dish cover......and set out on a table covered with a plastic cloth.....neighbored by other pyrex de wickers......is white trash cuisine......<nodding>

Someone I know once made a salad. This salad consisted of white rice, fruit cocktail and coolwhip with basil in it. Now, I didn't dare taste it, but she sure liked it.
