I don't know how many of you are having a white Christmas.

Here, we're having a white Christmas. The snow is falling from the sky and the wind is blowing at 30/40 MPH. There are apparently several local power outages, although my power is still on. The traffic is slip and slide.

How is it where you are?

We still have snow left over from the other day, though it was wet down pretty thin from rain the other say, and warm temperatures today.

No white Christmas in central Virginia. Reached 62 and I climbed Monticello Mountain this afternoon. More people out on this trail today than I'd ever seen before.

Would you accept Wet Christmas? It started raiing before dawn and has been coming down on and off all day.

Overcast and grey, about 58 with a light wind here in eastern Texas. Spotty showers tomorrow.

Exactly what is a spotty shower? Maybe i need to clean the bathroom.

It was in the low 60's here today. A white Christmas here would be a huge exception.

Out in the desert, they have a definition of what might be considered a spotty shower. A 'four inch rain' means the rain drops are four inches apart.

No such thing down here. It was arouns 80 degrees today. I miss white Christmases.

Be nice to have a white christmas like it used to be but blue skies here and not a bad day weather wise

I understand they had snow in Malibu! Probably not for Christmas, but earlier in December.

Yeah, just a dusting on the ridgetops. I've seen the same thing in the interchange between the 91 and the 110 but neither of those mean much. I was referring to . . . oh say what would happen if about 6" got dumped on L.A. Villaregosa would demand that they call out the National Guard!

If they got six inches of snow in Los Angeles, the entire city would shut down! They have no motorized snow removal equipment in L.A. proper and the only emergency equipment would be very busy in the mountains to the North and East.

True! But we Angelenos would soldier on! We'd tug on our Ugg boots, march out with our miniature dogs and head for the nearest Starbucks. Nothing stops us from getting our morning cup of coffee. :D

We have grey skies and unseasonably warm weather in my part of Ohio. Doesn't really feel like Christmas when you wonder if you really need to wear a coat.

One Christmas I was working and I stopped at a grungy little diner in the middle of nowhere. There were several feet of snow on the roads and a howling blizzard blowing out ofthe northwest. I walked through the place, looking for someone. There was a group of guys sitting in a corner, looking out the window into frozen hell. One of them said, "This sure aint like Christmas back home." Another one said, "Yeah, really hot weather." [They were Australians.]

A lot of my first 21 Christmases were white, but none in CA. When I was a kid, I liked the snow on the ground, but now I would really loathe the icy streets and the cold, etc. Getting old and curmudgeonly sucks. :(

The only white on the ground here is the beach sand...and it's really a light yellow...the wave tops are white tho. We had a few showers this AM, but they cleared out and the sun shone. High of 78f...Low of 64f.

We were just glad for the rain that was warm enough not to freeze. Christmas Eve left us with about two inches of ice on everything.

We had a White Christmas - a couple of inches of snow left from the storm last week and then additional snow and ice on the 23rd.

This morning? It's all gone. The temperature rose to 45 at the end of Christmas Day. It's supposed to get to 60 today!

I'm okay with that.

:)

Been snowing non stop here since mid-November. In fact, we have about 2-3 feet of snow on my back deck.

Kids like it though...I have a toboggan hill right outside my front door, so they are overjoyed! Me, I would give up snow in a heartbeat. White Christmases are over-rated. :D

I think that you who aren't too thrilled with the snow are overlooking a good opportunity to improve your snow shovelling skills. [Hint for you golfers, you don't use an overlapping grip.]

If the snow here keeps up, I may try out for the Olympic snow shovelling event.

Three major storms that left more than 2 feet. Lots of shoveling. My upper arms are really getting in shape. Today it is sunny and clear, so it is off to the grocery store before the next snowfall predicted for tomorrow.

Don't think of it just in terms of gettng muscles into shape. Think of the calories that are burning!
