I couldn't find a thread devoted to fine spirits, so I thought I'd start one.

This can be for any type of whiskey. Scotch, bourbon, etc.

What are you're favorites?

I have a few I like.

Jefferson's Reserve bourbon
Blanton's bourbon
Angel's Envy (not technically a straight bourbon, as it's finished in port wine casks)
Glenrothes scotch
Highland Park 18 year-old

And a few that are only carried by a local store (K&L Wines, that can be ordered online if you're interested)

Faultline bourbon
GlenDronach 18 year old scotch (their private stock from the distillery). The best scotch I've ever tasted.

Yours?

Are you Satan?

Scotch isn't whiskey, it's whisky.

And Lagavulin is nectar of the gods.

Friday. I subcontract. You interested?

The pay is shit, but you do get to spoil 72 virgins almost daily.

My dad kept a bottle of Southern Comfort on the buffet as far back as I remember. That's what I grew up considering as a man's drink though I don't remember ever seeing him drink any of it. When he died, it was still sitting there.

I got sick on it my 21st birthday and can't even look at a bottle without shaking, and come to find out, it's not even whiskey.

But, being Satan, you probably already know all that.

Really? I always considered it an elderly ladies drink. Like a grandma. All sweet and comforted with 'just a nightcap to warm my old bones'. That's why it's got 'comfort' in the title.

But I just drink whatever's cheapest. I drink to get drunk and I can't tell the difference.

Are you Satan's subcontractor?

I wish. Just think what those guys get paid...

I can only assume that Satan and I are not on speaking terms because as a goth teen I tried several times to invite him to talk and he declined every single time. Satan is a stuck-up prick.

she works at an irish golf club bar.
when they order it over ice, she gives them the cheap american shit.

Knew it? My evil spirits were loitering in the bottle. And molesting you when you passed out.

I did read about that. From what I understand, they finish and age them differently for each, which is where the flavor comes from. Then sell the used barrels to be used to make scotch.

My son's very first sentence was "George Dickel whiskey is $6.99 a quart." His preschool teacher was quite impressed.
