I am writing a story. What is the smoothest, most expensive whiskey you can buy?

whiskey???

You have to be a little more specific than that. What kind of whiskey are you talkin bout?? Scotch, bourbon, canadian, tell us what kind of whiskey and we might be able to help. Also, where are your characters drinking and why and what is their financial status. People of different social status drink different kinds af whiskey.

Crown Royal comes in a neat bottle and a velvet sack.

(or at least it used to when I drank.)

On a more serious note, call your local liquor store and ask them what is the most expensive whiskey they sell.

Thank you both. Successful lawyer. Emotional retard. (My character that is). Drinking to calm his nerves.

Most likely a good scotch, Chivas Regal, Glen Livit, Glen Fidich. These are listed in order of great, better, best. Also by cost.(Which might have a bearing on what kind of scotch he drinks!) If he is socially aware then he would drink only the best. If he is not then any good scotch would do.

May I suggest that a Glen Monrange 10yr is both smoother and more expensire than the Glen Fidich. I love scotch and have tasted both these brands. They are both a single malt whiskey distilled in Scotland, the Geln Fidich is aged 12 or 18 years in oak barrells, while the Glen Morange commes in a 10 or 18 year version. For your comparison on price (the figures will be worthless in themselves because of units or measure and our New Zealand Dollar, but the comparison is there) my local sells Glen Fidich 1150mL for about $60, and the Glen Morange 750mL goes for $85.

Glen Monrange huh????Oh the agony of a non imbiber!!!! Thank you

Glen Morange

I should have looked closer at your location line - the comparison will hold quite well for you.

For a purest the Glen Morange would definately be my pick, perhaps for your story the Glen Fidich is better as it is a more widely recognised name and people have an inkling of it's stauts.

I see. Maybe I'd beter stick with the Glen Fidich. This is exactly why I always ask. I am very aware that things which apply in Australia don't always have the same recognition factor in the States. I try not to confuse readers (doesn't mean I succeed though - lolol). Anyway, I haven't made a definitive decision - gonna sleep on it!!!!!!

Try the 18-year-old single malt Scotch, The MacAllen.

It goes down like silk, and costs the earth (more than some of the others named). It's a pity to waste it on an emotional retard, though.

Hmmmm...would an upmarket Chinese restaurant have these???
Don't worry Creamylady - the emotional retard suffers - boy does he suffer!!!!

oxy moron = Successful lawyer. Emotional retard.

not expensive but Southern Comfort is pretty damn smooth.

well...after drinking a 5th of makers mark that is.
