I'm looking for some new stories to read, QUALITY stories. Then how do you sort the wheat from the chaff? Well, I want to read some stories that have been flamed by lots of very angry people. They're the best. Stories that attract comments such as "This whore should have been burnt alive" or "Then why did he marry her in the first place? She's nothing but a disgusting slut" or perhaps: "This tramp should have been put down with a .4 Magnum" or maybe "disgusting harlots like this make me sick"

I want a good read for bedtime. I look forward to your responses

P.S. some of the tags I go for are Love, Cheating Wives, Interracial, Pregnant by Lover

avoid the 'loving wives' category if at all possible, i'm just sayin'

Just because a story has been flamed by a lot of readers doesn't necessarily mean it's either QUALITY or the best. You don't really indicate what would be in a story that got flamed but that you would think was high quality.

If you just like to read stories that get flamed a lot, dabble with SamuelX's.

just a suggestion

I have a story called, "perfect picture." I got a lot of hate mail for that.

My most hates story was part three of Maureen's abduction. Don't read it. I just couldn't end it but had to stop it and "Needed" to post it! lol lesson learned.

This one of mine: Trapped has attracted the worst comments. It is in the Loving Wives category...:D

One for me

I don't usually leave bad comments, but one story that I got suckered into reading was, "a letter to my husband, Mark." It had absolutely no redeeming value that I could see and I said as much in my comments.

If you love stories with fuming hate comments, why not commision an author to write a story about Osama living it up with his 72 virgins after the army turned him into swiss cheese?

Read my story Ellen's Bet. It's the first one I posted, and this was before I got smart enough to turn off anonymous comments to my stories. It got lots of comments like the ones you mention (although I think at one point or another I moderated - as in deleted - the most ignorant and mindless gibberish).

The thing you need to understand about this: Those sorts of comments come from guys who have at some point in their lives some woman "done 'em wrong." So now they have to lash out at women in general, and - most pathetically - that involves even lashing out at fictional women. They make the comments very violent because they think that makes it sound as if their penis is bigger than it is, and the more violent the comment the more they feel they need to compensate for their "short comings.".

It's all really sad and quite pathetic.

I might could hook you up. My "Summer Lovin'" contest entry would fit into your "cheating wives" catagory. Some of the comments about my main character have been "slut", "whore", etc. Even some who said they hated my story and would never read any of my work again, did say they gave it some stars.

Both of my "Before/After The Wedding" stories got lots of hate mail, and so did all three of my "Midnight Confessions" stories. Both were in Loving Wives. But I think I got the most hate mail for "Her Better Half" which was about a transvestite husband getting raped by his wife's lover. I don't know if I'd call any of them particularly good, but they were fun to write and the comments are a hoot!.......Carney

I have not gotten flamed to much on the public comment board, but have been crucified quite a bit through private feedback.

Most are the usual, "You're sick" "You suck" "What's wrong with you?"

The best one ever though was from a woman who very sweetly said that she felt bad for me. That anyone who could write the things I have put in my stories must have been truly unloved as a child and that she would pray for me.

She even scanned and e-mailed some material from her church.

I e-mailed her back and asked what the hell she was doing on a porn site in the first place, let alone the incest section.

She never got back to me. To bad, I was going to ask her for a hug.

I don't understand all the hate for stories. Well, I see the point if stories are based on real experience, but if they're fictional, what's the point?

I roleplay on a website I'm not going to advertise here, and on that website, everything is allowed. Some people play rape scenes, some people play extremely young characters, some people even play scenes where people get murdered during, after, or even before the sex. While I carefully avoid those people, I don't see why they shouldn't be doing this. Everything they do is pure fiction. They hurt nobody, they break no laws, and they don't even offend anybody if people don't deliberately look up things they hate.

I could be mistaken though. George Orwell was obviously planning to take over the world with English Socialism and Agatha Christie dreamt about murdering people every night. Obviously.

Several...but the MOST

vitriolic was in response to a story I wrote that had sort of a political theme, i was about the wife of a fictional (?) right wing talk radio host named Swift Branchbaum and his wife. Here is just one of the nicer comments. ........

( nig. hope ur daughter marries one. i'll work to pay for the kids and when he finds another dumb cunt she can have another chance at life with more than a cock. but really, isn't that all that's important to ur female spawn.........)

There were more.....The reaction, as well as other equally angry comments were apparently from right wing zealots or can not take what they like to give out.
( Mrs. Branchbaum Fucks (3.51) She is a cheat and slut, isn't she? Isn't she? Loving Wives 02/27/11
Mrs. Branchbaum Fucks Ch. 02 (3.59) Swift? Hedda? Who is worst? You decide. Loving Wives 03/12/11
Mrs. Branchbaum Fucks Ch. 03 (3.73p:)

You can't imagine how much I enjoy the premise of this thread. I smell a new Lit contest: write the story most likely to get a 1.0 rating, yet not get banned.

Question -

Are these flames directed at the author for whatever story content, and people with accounts at Literotica actually had a meltdown about it? Or are those people just trolls?

Or were the flames directed at characters themselves so it's all kind of immersive backlash?

I can't imagine people would have an account on here, knowing explicitly it's an adult site with adult content and highly graphic and explicit sex or fetish, and then be stupid enough to flip out because they read some porn. Anyone who does that should be banned and directed to the Disney Channel.

Or the Amazon page for toilet plungers so they can dig their heads out of their asses.

If they are anonymous comments, could it be people just finding the stories through Google and then deciding to vent? It does sound like most are from people with issues who are looking for a place to settle grievances from real life by picking on authors who hit too close to home for them.

sorry

But I have to share this. I had posted a comment on one of today's stories, "What wasn't in the envelope." Basically, I said that a one-time cuck who said he loved his wife but absolutely destroyed her (and stole her rightful divorce settlement money) was a coward if after 15 years (all but 5 month of which were happy and loving) he fled the country rather than even meet face to face with his former wife. My comment got at least one person to lose it! I append the comment (of course the guy identifies himself bravely as "anonymous," Here is his comment as he e-mailed it to me:

"Fuck you you dried up old cunt. Chicken shot cowardly cucks like you don't know the meaning of what a
real man do. So Fuck off."

I only wish the writer had identified his sissy self, if only so that I could explain to him(her) the difference between "do" and "does."

Flaming is odd behavior

I get very little flaming on my submissions, but when I do I have to just shake my head. There's millions of submissions, if you don't like this one, move on.

There are two kinds of flaming criticism:
1. of the writer/writing/storyline
2. of the character's behaviors

I am insulted by the first type because I am a very careful writer and take great pride in decent storytelling. I have received this only once or twice and actually wondered if they were writing to the wrong author. I don't mind criticism if it is thoughtful, or has merit, but don't flame me -I tried. I don't think this is the type of flaming the original poster was referring to.

The second just amuses me. It's fiction folks! Rant about the characters to yourself, but don't lower my score because you didn't like the personality of a character. There's a reason I made them that way. This is the type of flame I think the poster wants. I don't care for stories with totally disgusting characters you have to hate, but whatever floats your boat. A Valentine's submission that I read last night would be one you'd like, by DGHear I think, but I'm not positive.

My favorite criticism has been someone who disliked the very mild lesbian/group sex elements I placed in a story under "Non-human" because I categorized it wrong. I had to wonder how much she had actually read in that category. I hate to give away plot, but now I just put warnings at the start of anything that isn't straight M-F sex. Even with warnings, folks complain. You'll never make them all happy.

No!!!!

Those people who react to a fictional character's actions with such vehemence are so enmeshed in their own unhappy lives and in need of retribution for a slight they have suffered, that they cannot abide the existence of a person or a point of view that does not offer them affirmation. Their belief system is so fragile that any disagreement is absolutely frightening, anathema to them. Their criticism of a story is really a criticism of their own inability to faced a world that looks different from the world they want to see.
