Bruce Springsteen "Dancing in the Dark"

Aerosmith, everything after the Armageddon soundtrack

Metallica, the song to Mission Impossible

Ozzy, when Crazy Train appeared on a Mitsubishi ad

who else?

All of them,

the first one, except maybe Metallica who marketed thier first directly to the fans, then after that...

are all our musical heroes destined to do this? It seems if you have a good loyal fan base then you will always make money, why go for the Top 40 crowd?

Some people who I don't think sold out

Steely Dan and, hmmm, well, it's late, can't think of anyone else..hehehe

great line

Also did not sell out...Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain...would they have if they had the time? I'd like to think not but you just never know.

Also did not sell out..Roger Waters and Syd Barrett, one disappeared and the other went nuts

Sold Out

Elton John: As soon as he hit Disney Movies.

Eric Clapton: Didn't sell out.

And it is too late to come up with anymore. *yawn*

If Eric Clapton didn't sell out, he got old. I just don't like much of anything he's done since the early 80s, except "From the Cradle" Some great work there

Yeah, after a while he just seemed insipid and irrelevant. But that period of R&R when artists really just jammed. GOLDEN!

Clapton has something to say but he says it to the social security crowd.

Arlo Guthrie never sold out, he still plugs along, wandering around. I don't think REM did. Problem is, if you dont sell out, people sometimes forget and ignore you..i.e Steely Dan

The 70s were a real golden era of rock because so many different people did so many different things, there was blues inspired rock, southern and Appalachian inspired, folk inspired, gospel inspired, jazz inspired, so many mixtures of sounds...what an era and what talent all together at one time, it was good because no one style dominated and shut out the rest

Arlo Guthrie is so cool. As a person. I had some dealings with him, and the things he would do for kids that suffered with that affliction...

Not everyone "sells" out, but they still "sell."

Two more really cool people, Leon Redbone and Edgar Winter!

Class acts when I was around them.

PS

Jiimy page was cool too.

whoops, I'm in my cups now!

Elvin Bishop & Emmy Lou Harris get thumbs down! So does Pavoratti! And Michael Jackson!

Jim Dandy, cool!

Def Leapard (sp?) cool! Tesla, glad I tossed them!

Skinny Puppy... BOTH!

CARVILLE: SHut up AJ! You drunk and boring everyone! Next you be talking about how you painted houses with rock stars. I swear to god, you lie! I lie! My wife lies for the wrong side!

Neccesite picata para mi Bung Hole!

Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes just put out an album, what I have heard was great. Two acts that didnt sell out. The Black Crowes started out with that hard-edged southern sound and changed a little as time went on but i still love 'em

Michael Jackson, are you a sell out if you started your career as one?

Guns n' Roses, damn I loved them. Great band. Sometimes groups split or self-destruct before they sell out....cant take the pressure

Any artist who would assault 20,000 fans is a hero in my book!

I love G&R!

Get in the ring! Get in the ring!

I don't need your civil war.

They reminded me of '68.

whatever a picata is, make sure you dispose of it in an EPA approved disposal facility after it is done with your bung hole

i have but one thing to say as far as Metallica selling out goes: "yes we sell out...

...every seat in the house, everywhere they play."- Jason Newstead, bassist, Metallica

(should give the man credit where credit's due)
