Which shoes to wear?

Okay you fashion mavens..help me out here.

I have a hot dinner date tonight.

I am wearing a simple v-neck black sweater dress, small gold earrings, and a thin gold necklace with a small amythest pendant. I really don't want to wear hose though maybe I should since my legs are fishbelly white.

Which shoes? The closed toe ones are a little more comfortable than the peep toes. Hose or no hose?

I'd pick both, but I'm a greedy whore. If I had to pick one [and believe me that would hurt] I would pick the second pair; the suede ones. Absolutley gorgeous shoes, classic lines, and will be wearable in 10 years.

I own both pairs! MY new favorite website is zappos.com. They ship the shoes overnight and pay the shipping both ways...and there are about a zillion pairs to chose from.

I've been leaning towards the peep toes myself, but wanted more input. What about hose? Oh, wait, no hose with peeptoes, right?

If the pumps are more comfortable, wear those. Sidestep the hose issue by dusting your legs with bronzing powder or using some lotion with bronzer in it. *Says she who's so pale she glows in the dark* I like both pairs of shoes, though.

I'd say the lower pair.. go with the classic V and subdued style of what you described..and I'd say hose.. /shrug

Could try spray on stockings, but for me no matter how tanned or well shaped a leg is, it only looks better in stockings/hose.

LOL, I actually prefer to wear them than not because they feel so good to me and whoever has had the pleasure to stroke them amongst other things.

As a matter of personal preference, I find the second pair of shoes very sexy and the first rather neutral, i.e., they inspire no strong reaction either way.

With regard to the hose thing, the vocabulary confuses me at times but I'll do my best to convey what I mean nevertheless. If I am looking at a woman dressed up for a nice dinner, and all other things being equal, my aesthetic preference would be:

first choice: hose/stockings that are sheer and some shade of tan or black. Very subtle design things (almost like a watermark on paper) might be okay.

distant second choice: bare legs

As an *extremely* distant third choice (but really more of an "ugh, why on earth did she go there?"): hose/stockings that are white, red, or any color other than mentioned above, and/or large designs or prints, all of which I find rather distracting and odd.


Shifting now to the part that would not be visible at the restaurant, but may or may not come into play later on, I have a very strong preference for the type that stop mid-thigh, rather than continuing up to the waist.

I LOVE Sofft. I just bought this pair yesterday, wearing them around the house to break them in. I didn't see the peep-toe or I would have gotten those too!!

Go with what is more comfortable. It is hard to be relaxed when your feet hurt.

Personally, I vote good pair of thigh high hose with a nice garter. It makes me feel sexier knowing the feminine gear is in place. Also, panty hose can may the yoni smell wilted.

Sexy to me.
Closed shoe.. unless it is warm and tropical I wear hose.
Hose is never less than sexy for me.. I wear thigh high or nothing.

Thanks everyone. I did wear the peep toes and I did wear sheer black thigh-highs. I was glad I wore the hose as it did pull the outfit together nicely. The "peep" was small and the hose were seamless so it didn't look odd.

BTW, this was a hot date but I knew going in to it that he wouldn't be seeing my hose tonight..were were simply meeting for dinner. LOL. We did have a very nice time though.

I like those too! I am a now a Sofft convert! I bought two pairs last week and I love them. Who knews heels could be so comfy!

If There is only one toe peeping I can handle hose.
More than one toe peeping and it looks like webbed toes to me and just not attractive. Beauty and fashion is always about how we process it though, of course. One person's idea of hot is bound to be another's example of not.
