My cross dressing desires come and go as well. I wonder how common that is. I've had periods of years without thinking much about it, although the interest is always there at least a little somewhere deep inside.

I was in my teens when I had those desires, but once I went to college, and started dating women I lost interest in that. When I did dress up, it was exclusively for my own fastasies, so I don't know if I will ever reveal those thoughts to an SO.
