Which bondage premise would you find interesting?

(Hopefully I'm using the right part of the forum for this lol)

So I'm mulling over a story where a frat engages in bondage hazing in a partnership with a sorority, but there's two angles I'm considering for how the sorority gets in this predicament

1. The sorority had an existing relationship and has been hazed before, but nothing as severe as bondage. This appeals to me from a betrayal angle, they're being tied up by people they already know and thought hazing wouldn't reach this level

2. A less prestigious sorority reaches out to this fraternity and wants to partner with them. The frat agrees but only if they sign up for being hazed. They're put in bondage as a punishment for thinking they could pair with this frat. No betrayal angle, but feels more humiliating to me knowing their attempt to make their sorority become more popular is ending in disaster and could also explore the angle of how stupid the girl who reached out to make it happen feels.

So do you like a betrayal angle or a desperately trying to become more popular and failing angle? Thanks!

I guess I like the first scenario more.

Also, I don't think you need to overthink the motivations of either option; I feel with the mix of booze, drugs, hormones, mob-mentality & letting off steam, anything could happen, with people involved later saying, "I dunno, we were all having fun and then things just started spiraling out of control..."

They could both work. I say go with the one that you most want to write, specifically whichever one you have some copy to mind for. You can always write a similar story from the other angle later. Nothing wrong with revisiting themes or set-ups.

I think 'less prestigious' vs the presumably 'more prestigious' and how partnering with them would make less->more makes no sense at all...which leads me to think 2 is the winner.

To make sure I understand your point clearly: you think 2 works better because you think a fraternity would be more inclined to use bondage on a sorority coming to them with a dumb idea as a way to punish them? Appreciate the feedback either way, just wanna make sure I understand your point, thanks!
