That's me.

P.S-Gen X=26-something

I *think* she's saying that she doesn't want to be included in your x or y groups.

(I swear, I only looked up one of those words!)

Word!

What is that thing under your title Raw? It's roundish and greenish and bluish and it's funny looking. Is that supposed to be a person of some sort?

I'm Gen-X

I have the cool generation with an original name. Some of the people in my generation:

Tupac
Alanis Morissette
Congressman J.C. Watts
Ethan Hawke
Wynona Rider
Brett Favre
Snoop Doggy Dogg
Jeffery Dahmer
Draaah

Now what do these people have in common? They're all from industrialized nations and they were all born in the same time frame.

What are the ramifications of this commonality? Considerations regarding environmental processes on the human behavioral spectrum, considerations regarding the functionality of different sub-sets of society, considerations of methodology with the bounds of quantification of traits with regards to informational availability to the various sub-sets.

Actually, I am of proper age to be considred amongst your generational subset. And let us not forget Kurt Cobain, the gentleman who MTV granted messiah status upon his unfortunate mishap.

And that think under my title is a self-portrait of me as a youngster. I used to strive for artistry as my profession.

Cool. Is that an egg on your head?

We're also responsible for Ricky Martin. I call it a cancelling out of sorts.

well we have the insane clown posse so stick that in your crack pipe and smoke it! :p

I was embarrassed about my hair at the time, so I drew a hat on myself.

We also cannot forget Deborah (don't call me Debbie) Gibson and her arch-nemesis and Playboy-spreading Tiffany.

gen y spawned britney spears, n'sync, and school shootings....does anyone else see a pattern here?

Actually, the ICP are all Gen-X.

Raw, I'd really like to say you were an adorable child, but I'm not much for lying.

Is that a method of saying that you stayed the same weight from Kindergarten to adulthood?

Not exactly, but sorta... and my hair got better.

really? haha well you must be proud...hmm i think those guys in n'sync are like 30 so they must be yours too

Nope, nsync is yours. We've got the New Kids on the Block, Menudo, and the Backdoor Boys.

We have enough icky people without help, thank you.

We also spawned the violent youth counterculture. They put metal detectors in high schools when I was a sophomore.

Doesn't necessarily make me proud, but it is utterly fascinating. The Information Age began and society shifted paradigm within the space of only a few years. After the Sexual Revolution (Baby Boomers did that), society has progressed technologically in the space of a single decade as quickly as it had progressed over the space of a century in the past paradigm, and several dozen centuries in the paradigm prior to that.

"Generation" used to mean nothing. Nothing changed from generation to generation. People did what their parents did and the children followed the example. There was no real need to count generational-specific data beyond the primary statistics for the purposes of longevity, mortality, fertility, fecundity, errata. Now the global paradigm shifts generationally. Each time the generations become smaller. Gen-X has a larger number of clustered age groups than Gen-Y will, no doubt.

We live in fascinating times.

yes we do...i think the baby boomers are responsible for a lot of the reasons our generations are so screwed up...we were raised by potheads and people that tried to be their kids friends rather than parents

wait, are we really fucked up or am i just used to the older generation telling me we are?
