I don't know that anything happened to DG Hear. They last published in 2015 and last modified their bio in 2017.

I do remember DG was saying that he was starting to feel burnt out in his last couple of years here on the forum.

It may very well be that he simply burnt out. Could be temporary, or it could be that he told every story that he felt he needed to tell.
