Lisa, does Vlinder Fawn plan to continue the 60 A.D. thread?

That really depends on the response to the original. I've got some ideas and I would hope to tie it in with the story of the 9th Legion which just vanished. I'm already researching the Iceni Tribe for my novel so it would be easy to cross fertilise.

If I do it will probably be ready to begin in the Spring. Meanwhile how did you find the original? I had in my mind a sort of a cross over between Xena, Spartacus and True Blood. I've also had an approach from an independant producer who has run some things by me.

It was not an easy read for me. I had to keep Wikipedia up in order to look up some things I didn't understand. I never read J.R.R. Tolkien and I'd never heard of an orc. I also had to look up the history of the Roman invasion. It took some time, but I have a decent feel for the story now. If Utta decides to go north to fight the Romans, I will need to go back to the history books to get some more background. Overall, though, it was a good read.

I tried to follow an SRP by Dark Warrioress and Dryfter but I was immediately overwhelmed. I can gather that their work is high fiction but after reading it twice (it's a new thread) I'm still thoroughly confused. I'm sure they are skilled writers but it's way over my head. I'm not a skillful enough reader.

Utta did remind me of Zena. Like Zena, she was an expert with weapons and she was also a great horserider. She makes a good heroine.

Both are very skilled writers and I have the very highest respect for them. Unfortunately not everyone of us feels comfortable with every writer.

I'm honoured you checked out the history in AD60 - it really makes all the effort worth while.

I have no doubt that Dark Warrioress and Dryfter are very talented writers. I am not very well-read in that genre. They are writing Post Graduate level work and I'm more like a second semester Freshman.

I don't understand those grades, we don't have them in the UK. The important thing is to understand that writing is open to all. And those of us who write love receiving feedback. We love our readers!

A Freshman is a first year college student. Each year consists of two semesters, the first of which commences in September and the second begins in January. A second semester Freshman would have been introduced to the basics of his/her line of study in the first semester. Post graduates would have received a four year degree (Bachelor's Degree) in their major. They would probably be pursuing a Master's Degree. The second semester freshman is not prepared for the courses that a PG would be studying. I don't know how this compares to the university system in the UK.

Ah, but you've graduated from Hard Knocks College in the University of Life. That Masters is worth it's weight in gold.

Here it's Under grad 1,2,3 followed by degree, honours, Masters etc.

Thanks, Lisa. Yes, I am a graduate of that school, for better or worse. I know that I have learned a lot along the way. I have some regrets but I also have some great memories. If I lost everything else. my memories would still make me a wealthy man.

I sure hope we don't hear from you tomorrow night. You need to be with your man, and he needs to be with you. Give him a homecoming he will never forget.
