I'm new here, so let me start off by saying hello
I'm a 19 year old female.. and I've had a few posts around here and on occasion used the live chat.
I love some of the stories here-we all can't like everything

I had a question regarding a story I want to do, I'm unsure of the category that I would place said story(s) in.
Its based off e-mails I've done back and forth between a gentlemen and myself, he has given me his permission to use the material to write story(s).
We've been role-playing back and forth about a maid (me) and a slightly older, more experienced gentleman (him) and what he teaches her.
However this is not a Bondage story so I don't think it fits into that category. It is sort of a collaboration, but since he is not part of Literotica I can't list him as a fellow author.
So what category would you place this story in?
Need a sample to decide?

Two categories come to mind:

1) Letters & Transcripts

and maybe

2) Erotic Couplings

But L&T would be the best fit I believe. At least until the two or you actually get together...in the story, in the story.

As I typed this I had a question pop into my fron...are you writing this as a story or are you actually just using the emails and putting some narrative around them?

The answer to this question may determine the category. Do you and he get together to practice in the story?

I say-- get the story written first. it's going to fall into more than one category, they always do if they are any good.

Isn't there an age difference cat? And BDSM does not have to include bondage, or any sort of pain play at all.

I thought that also, but not knowing if the story included any contact between the two of them there may be complaints from the trolls.

No, its not just letters written to each other's characters, its an actual sexual-based role-play between him and me. We have not met irl though if that's what you are wondering, it is pure erotic fiction.
I'm going to be using the role-play bits of our emails (we talk about other things) besides the role-play and of course there are bits of the role-play that aren't sexual really but a lead up to the next thing.
In the role-play I think we just settled on there being not that much of an age difference.
A young gentleman (him) agrees to take me to be his maid from his old friend and it progresses from there. Because I was raised in the old friend's household rather innocently I know nothing about sex though we are close in age.

Ah, then, it could be BDSM or First Time (if she is as innocent as you describe and/or a virgin).

As for your real life experience, that is not what I was asking about, rather the characters experience. Do they get together, but you explained that they do.

So this is a story based on the content of your e-mails rather than repeating them in sequence more or less verbatim?

My first thought would be Erotic Couplings. If your character's a virgin, First Time. If he's significantly older than you, Mature. You can't go wrong with EC...it's the catch-all category of porn.

Exactly. I don't know have the e-mails we sent to each other, but I can remember the basic form of them and make a story out of it. Plus if I do use verbatim then I have his permission.
I think I'll go with Erotic Couplings since we go past my first time and he's not that much older than me in the role-play

With all respect - you've posited a vast speculation - SO is correct: write and then decide what and where it is and belongs...............go for it.....tell the story and let the story go where it will.....

If it's basically an exchange of postings (letters) without much narrative, it doesn't really matter much how you classify it. The editor will most likely automatically send it to Letters & Transcripts.

If the exhanges don't overwhelm the narrative and a story arc, Erotic Couples is probably a good fit.

Alright, thanks for all the feedback everyone. I guess I should work on clarifying it a bit more when I actually get around to submitting it as it is not an exchange of letters between our two fictional characters, but between us it is. For our characters they frequently do erotic things together, so I think I shall put it under Erotic Couplings.
