Where's The Bottom?

In the Fall I predicted the DOW would bottom at 8500. What do I know!

Another reckless soul predicted 7500. Fucking optimist!

I've heard that 4000 is likely the bottom.

This minute the DOW is at 6834.

The Japanese stock exchange could tell the DOW that the worst prediction isn't bad enough.

Call me a wild-eyed optimist.

I read some books, recently, about WW2 and Korea. The generals never could make MacArthur believe Korea was overrun with Chinese troops, and the admirals couldnt make the Navy understand that the torpedoes were crap...they shot a boatload of them into a rock and nuthin happened AND the honchos still thought the fish were terrific. This sorta phenomena is going on at every level of our economy, because the people calling the shots get promoted for keeping tidy desks.
