Where to post a story?

Currently, I'm writing a couple of serials "by request" for some "extreme" kinky sex clubs. By "extreme", I mean heavy fetish clubs. (curiously, I'm not into what I've been writing about myself!!!!).

The clubs are gay related, so I've been posting the stories under the 'gay stories' section of Literotica, particularly since the 'kinky' section of Literotica seems to be heterosexually dominated.

It's been an interesting result. Whilst those I'm targetting (through a seperate webpage promoted to these extreme kinky groups) have been sending endless amounts of positive feedback, most of the feedback I've been receiving from Literotica has been negative (including requests to stop posting such stories!). It's the few positive feedbacks I've been receiving that have kept me posting these stories - as there is obviously a small audience accessing Literotica who aren't aware of the other kinky sex clubs that are promoting my stories to their members.

My question is this. Since the stories are kinky - should I be posting them under the 'kinky' section of Literotic rather than the 'gay' section? And if I do, will the gay readership not find them, thus missing the primary audience?

If you post them on the fetish board, you will get complaints too.

I think your best option, would be to post them on the gay board but state explicitly in the description what sort of things they will read. Then at the top of the page state--

Warning: This story contains watersports, creampie, or whatever it is you are writing about.

That should cut down on the accidental squicks, but occasionally you will still get a feedback from someone who was curious but then wished they hadn't read it.

just had the same problem - I wrote this historical story about a Roman Gladiatrix, (female gladiator) "Juliana's Last Stand" there were 2 sex scenes one heterosexual and the other lesbian.
Where should it go?
I was stumped - so I stuck in as Erotic Coupling but I don't know.

Maybe a case for a "Potpourri" / Mischelaneous Category

suggestion

Perhaps we need to suggest to Literotica that they break down the gay section. Since most stories on the site are heterosexual, there's really just the 'gay male' and 'lesbian sex' sections for anything homosexual.

Given the diversity of sexual practices amongst people, gay or straight, perhaps there needs to be a 'homosexual' section which is broken down into various genres.

Or perhaps some way for authors to register their stories over various categories, which are listed beside the title. That way the reader will have more of an idea of what themes the story contains. The added advantage of this also is that, for example, a gay male into kinky sex, would find the same gay kinky stories regardless of whether he looked under 'gay male' or 'fetish'.

How does one go about making recommendations to Literotica?

And by the way...why am I a "Virgin" (under my nick in the left-hand column)??!! Is it supposed to make us unloved writers more appealing??????? :)

I agree..

there should be a way to list it under more than one category, or have a multiple categories category so the stories aren't listed more than once or something. I would guess that is why they don't do this, because of not wanting to list a story multiple times.

but like mt first story here is supposed to be part of a long set of stories. This first one is purley Lesbian and the second one may be too. But the third would involve some three way, maybe group, maybe incest. I dunno. The stories will all contain some pretty kinky stuff that ranges all over the place. And I want all of them to be listed in the same category. I guess just making sure you give a detailed listing of all that is in the story and placing it in the category that it is mainly about is the best way to go. I don't know.

Anyway, please read my story and vote. And feedback would be great too! hehehe

p.s. Your Virgin status is just a name given to new posters. It will go away after 30 posts. I am on my way!! At 100 you get to pick an avatar or use your own pic. At this rate I will get there in a year or so. :)

Edit: oh, i hit 30! Popping that cherry felt reallllllllllll good!

You can disregard this if you wish.

How about a catagory "suck it and See!"
And then do as sudgested put a warning note at the top of the story.
After all if you don't like what you are reading. STOP! But then the cats dead isn't it?:p

Suck it and see!

Now there's a catagory name I like! It says it all really, doesn't it?

A handful of people who don't like my main serial - Bio of a Bully - are continuing to read each chapter regardless. I must say that my initial thoughts of "well, why don't you just stop reading them!" have changed however.

For all I know they may be continuing to read each chapter simply for somthing to complain, but I've chosen to believe that they continue to read the stories because they like my style, if not the content! Gotta keep my head up somehow!

Either way though, I'm glad they're still offering me feedback. At least I know people are reading my stories! And it also gives me more of an idea of what Literotica audiences seem to want, so after this series ends, I'll stop posting such extreme kink on the site and limit most of my submissions to more common-place tales of erotica.

Another curious thing too - most of my stories are written in first person (ie. "I" rather than "he/she"). In the instance of "Bio of a Bully", I've had quite a bit of feedback from readers thinking that I'm writing my own biography and that the narrator is me! A frightening thought! This is what happens when the wankers who run countries start banning the children's literature that we grew up on - the kids grow up without their imaginations and lose the ability to distinguish fiction from reality. Very sad.

o

ozeboi69 I have just read all of the bio of a bully stories and although I'm not into gay stories, I thought the characters were intelligently written. The people who have gave you negative feedback won't have realised that you aren't mean't to like the bully. I think you are right to cut down on the extreme stlye though.

What u working on now:confused:

Hi PunkFan,

Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate the time you've taken to read the Bully stories before commenting too, given that there are so many chapters, and you're not gay.

My latest two stories are stand-alone tales that are sentimental / romantic rather than extreme in any way:

Walter Pinge Has No Life
http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=35435

Sunset
http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=35980

At the time of writing this, "Walter Pinge Has No Life" is sitting at number 21 in the top gay male stories category. It not only fits nicely into the gay category, but obviously appeals to a wider Literotica audience.

I'm now doing some research for another short serial. Haven't decided if it will be extreme or not. Whereas my stories like "Bio of a Bully" and "Jungle Fever" were written for specific groups and then added to Literotica later, I'm now writting a few (such as Walter Pinge and Sunset) that are more to my own tastes. So whether my next story is written and offered to the same groups as earlier, or written according to my own tastes, remains to be seen!
