Whare is the erotica?
Most of these stories lack the build up.....the erotic nature of seduction.........
Within 3 words, we are already there......fucking and sucking!!!!!
Where are the authors that undertand that erotica is in the seduction?

They're there. You just aren't looking close enough. Besides, this is a free site. The absolute very best are probably in professional publishing. So cool it, okay.

Try these two stories. They have buildup

Try these two stories. The feedback that I have gotten from them is the fact that the Do have build up to the erotic.

Let me know if you like them. I would like your feedback since you also like the erotic having a story line.

They are:

Invest a little time to discover authors

wcapp--

A legitmate concern. You'll have no doubt read stories penned by the hobby writers on this site. They outnumber the more studious and accomplished writers here. The more seasoned players undoubtedly submit works to houses and paying sites so you're less likely to see them posting weekly and they aren't here 24/7.

If you invest some time in reading the forums for writers, you will discover those works that will likely suit your interests. I don't know what themes you prefer, but if you are looking for solid writing, I'd recommend Dixon Carter Lee, KillerMuffin, and Mickie. I could name others, but these writers demonstrate skill, depth, range, and their styles are different enough to offer you variety.

Welcome to Lite.

Peace,

daughter

I would also recommend Gacho, Madame Pandora, Dirty Old Man, Crazy, or Cockatoo.

All of the above are great! Some more of my faves are Paul C, The Bard, and Thesandman. There are so many.....Who did My Blue Raincoat? Help me here folks...... *blush* I've got someone in mind, but would hate to mention the wrong author....But..you can do a "search" on that title, wcapp.

Debbiexxx and Laurel

Thanks Debbiexxx, Yes, Nessus wrote Famous Blue Raincoat (not My Blue Raincoat as I stated initially....It's been a while since I read it...sorry Nessus! Great story!)

Laurel, Don't mean to put words in your mouth but I feel pretty secure in saying I'll bet one of those forgotten people on your list is Paul C. Gotta love those audios! Thanks for running his latest series!

Where is the erotica??

Dear wcapp,
I share the feeling. I came to Lit in June of last year, after searching for a place to post my erotica and after a few rather awkward attempts at what I thought readers wanted, I began to simply write the sort of story I wanted...the kind that includes some characterization, build-up, tension, etc.
I have always been confused about why my writing has not been more widely read here, as I have yet to have anyone tell me I can't write. And I have even been criticized for having "too much detail", but in the end, it's clear that the stories on this site primarily (certainly not all, but considering the number of submissions, this is true) are simple masturbatory material.
There is nothing wrong with that, of course, but I prefer a STORY to the other. It is rather like being in the chatroom and having someone get in your face and say, "Hey Baby, wanna fuck?" as opposed to meeting someone who engages your brain FIRST.
The brain is the finest sexual organ, and I try to remember that in my stories. I appreciate those who read me, because I know they feel the same. I wish you luck on your search for true erotica....there are many fine writers here, and I hope you find me to be among them.

Thanks for the mention

Thanks for the mention, Laurel. There are a lot of the "short form" writers here and let's face it there is a market for that sort of writing--I've heard from a few who didn't like it that I took more than a paragraph to get my characters into the act. But I don't write letters to Penthouse, I'm writing about real people in real situations and if some hot erotic interlude develops, well so much the better. You are right in that there are other writers, perhaps too many to list who deserve mention in your list. Hopefully wcapp will stick around and discover the many creative writers (some of whom are published mainstream) who post their work for all to read. Thanks again!

Thanks to the readers that like depth

I'd just like to say that I am very glad that there are readers out there for those of us that like to write and develop stories with characters, and the 'feelings, emotions and why' behind our lust.

To me, taking the time to know the characters and what they are feeling and more detail of what is going on is what helps us all 'go to the place' the writer is trying to transport us.

Oh no - I didn't forget him, but you already listed him so I didn't want to duplicate. His work is top notch, and his audio versions are excellent!

first of all wcapp, let's have a little look at your complaint.
Why is your definition of erotica 'THE' true meaning of erotica. Is it truly only in the seduction, or does the word hold different meanings for different people.
Secondly, as the writers above have stated, why don't you stop whinging and have a look!
I think you'll find there's a huge selection catering to every persons definition of erotica.
Happy hunting!

Good erotica

Erotica is a very personal thing. A lot of people don't like suspense. I agree with you however that sexual tension is essential to the erotic experience. I also believe some of the stories you'll find here are FAR better thany any pay site stories. Mainstream erotica is often very formulaic and lacks creative energy. Have a look at my website for some stories with tension and suspense.

I must agree with WCAPP to some degree, most of us who enjoy sex know that getting to the final step is half (or more of the fun). Swingers are the ones who can usually tell you all about the fun of the prelude. If you want to see how long it can take, try my story "A Swinging Door Opens" under Loving Wives.

I would like to thank Laural for mentioning my name but truth is you probably wouldn't like my stories. They either have no sex but lots of character or they have very blunt sex with not much character. What all my stories do have is plot. It is used to tie all the sex together or to tie the characters together.

I like to say even my smut is plot driven as opposed to character driven. There is nothing wrong with character driven stories. I personally find them tedius. Like they say it does make the Kentucky Derby possible... for those you following the saga my hero is still stranded in west virginia and I cant for the life of me get his ass out

It is good to have so much difference yes?:) My stories appeal to some:) others they hate them for they are too slow. That is fine:)

It depends on the mood of the reader:) they are the judge:)

I write to complete a puzzle:)

Gee...

And here I thought I was taking too long to get to the "good
stuff" in my stories....lol. Actually, "erotica" means different things to different people. To some, seduction is erotic...others teasing is the buildup...and to others a well-thrust whip is erotic.
For myself, I enjoy teasing and seduction both...and have put
a little of each in some of my stories. But the important thing for
me in a story is fleshing out the characters..so that you care about them BEFORE they fling off their clothes. Erotica can take
many forms. And I don't know if I've ever seen a lot of "erotic"
stories where you see much hugging and kissing and love talk
before the sex (I could be wrong on that, so please don't write
back to tell me I am, ok?). Usually the sex is the prime reason
for writing erotica. If you wanted to write a romantic story leading
to sexual passion, you'd more than likely have to write a novel,
or at least a novella. And though it's my personal opinion...I don't
think that's the real purpose of Literotica (again, I could be wrong,
so, please...? Thanks.). Most (not all) people who visit Literotica
want to read hot stories, but hot stories with an actual plot and
believable situations. But they don't want book length stories
with pages of lead-in to the "erotica." Hmmm...maybe a poll of
some sort could be taken? Just a thought. Keep reading, all,
and thanks for all the positive feedback you've sent over the past
two years. Stay happy and "erotic".

Thanks to all that replied

Thanks to all. To clarify my position I must say that the imagination is the most powerful aphrodisiac!..:) Sooooooooo....I look for the stories that make me WANT to keep reading......to finallly GET THERE! HA! Knowing full well that the getting there is what is enjoyable...for me.
Thanks for all the suggestions..it will take me a while to search the recommendations out..and I will let you know my favorites!! Keep writing!

Try this one - over 500 words intro ...

... but not, I hope, boring. I know you were using a little poetic licence when you mentioned "3 words before fucking and sucking", but I tend to agree with you about the eroticism of a build-up. See what you think of my story. Apologies for the three mistypings, if you spot them.Joanna ...

By the way, do you have any examples of the kind of story you mean? Either on literotica or from general literature?
