I cannot believe that y'all let things get so bad that Myst felt she had to leave.

I've read that thread thanks to the three who PM'ed me the background info and a thread link. I still can't believe that WE - we here at Lit - we who may not always agree but manage, somehow, mostly, to not fucking actually hurt each other too badly - allowed matters to go so badly wrong that Myst - and others - felt they had to go.

That's just wrong.
Myst has been here forever.
So have others involved in that shameful thing.
Others are more recent arrivals (yes, like me) but their insights and opinions and alliances and cares are nonetheless valid for that.

It's wrong to so harass each other that some feel the need to move away.

It's wrong to gang up on others if they've done no wrong, simply for stating contrary opinion or alien feelings. (An exception is, of course, always in force with respect to trolls. They try hard to sow dissent and hurt - and do so anonymously and in hiding behind a false nick.)

It's wrong to not have Myst here.

And i can't believe anyone involved in that thread... that... that... whole shameful, outrageously selfish posting of nasty-minded barbs (ohhhh... ) is at all happy or satisfied or content with the outcome, either. I know from being there that decent people (and all involved in that thread are that) who act in concert to hurt others often (not *always*, sadly) regret doing so. They regret the outcome of their actions and worry in privately over the bitterness of their win in the same way that we all worry at slivers stuck deeply in our fingertip - but beyond the reach of our nails or tweezers.

Geeze, guys.
No Myst?

Everyone involved needs to rethink the outcome of this whole ugly thing. Everyone involved needs to imagine how it would be if it was s/he who was feeling so frustrated, so harassed, so badly that there seemed to be no alternative but to leave Lit.

This is very sad, for all of us.

cymbidia i agree with you to a point that its a crime almost that myst felt she had to leave but i know that everyone that was involved in the arguement really regretted that myst choose to leave and that they wanted her to stay and regretted the whole arguement ... i think the arguement happened because of everyone was just having one of those days


i sent a pm to myst before she turned her pm's off im not sure if she saw it though but i said that i hoped she wouldnt leave and that EVERYONE felt the same


maybe it is for the best that myst takes a break though from literotica i REALLY REALLY hope she will come back soon though

You are implying that there was an implicit agreement to hurt another poster. As one involved in the fray, I do not appreciate that characterization. Though I have obvious friendships that extend beyond this Board, my posts reflect my thoughts, and only my thoughts. I questioned - and yes, criticized - Myst's original post because it seemed contradictory to me. Please note a distinction here - I did not criticize Myst, I criticized her post. In response, she assumed the absolute worst about my intentions, called me a "schoolyard bully" and said nothing I ever posted is of any importance.

I did not see the eruption caused by my post until well after Myst turned off her PM and e-mail, and I did not want to exacerbate the situation by posting again on that thread. I am sorry that Myst felt compelled to abandon Lit, but I feel it an unfair characterization of events to paint her as the innocent victim driven away by a pack of wolves.

i dont know if she was treated badly or not (dont want to debate that because too long ago) but yes it was a nasty arguement and i felt bad for BOTH sides because both people i liked


personally even if a people on this board did hate me i wouldnt leave because i have too many friends here ... i dont think anyone hates myst here though and the people involved in the arguement i [b}know[/b] they didnt want myst to leave and i know they regretted the whole arguement whoevers fault or whatever it was (no laying blame in this thread please)

Ok *holds hands up* I was part of the altercation too.
But I've been here and avoided so many confrontations, even the KR1 crap and the MP stuff a long time ago, but in that case I felt I had to step in to point out what was going on. And I felt that Myst was acting unreasonably. There was also undisclosed PM's between us which I'll keep private for obvious reasons.

I'm sad that Myst decided to leave, but like I said before, you reap what you sow.
