Where have all the pantyhose gone?

Hey! I'm new at this so bear with me. What happened to pantyhose? I'm 45. I've had a hose fetish since I was a kid. I love the look, the feel, even the sound of two legs gently rubbing together. The problem is, where have they all gone? I rarely see them anymore. Can anyone tell me why they disappeared? Do women hate them that much?

It's like this - in the summer, they are uber hot. In the winter, they don't really do anything to help keep you warm.
You pull out a brand new pair of Donna Karen's and start to pull them over your toes. Then, one of your fingernails snags the leg, and you're out $15.
Now, in the event that you do indeed get them up, you get to wrestle with them throughout the day to keep the crotch in the right place - or the waistband in a place that doesn't make you look like muffin stomach. Still, everytime you use the bathroom and pull them up or down, you still live with the dreaded fear that at any moment, you will get a huge run.
My all time favorite is the "sun tan" look. You know, that lovely orange look that looks absolutely nothing like sun tan. It makes someone as pale as myself look like I have a disease on the lower part of my body.

Now, if indeed you are looking - look at professional places - the banks usually make women wear hose. Atleast mine does. Some attorney's offices, and I believe even state and federal government agencies. But most women wear pants just to get away without dealing with them.

If they would make them so that there was a higher spandex count, versus nylon, it would be nice. The spandex is the aspect that keeps them from being shredded so quick.
I do wear them in my job. I have to.... but they are higher maintenance than any other part of my wardrobe.

Tanning salons and leg tinters.

Obviously you have seen what those panty hose look like when they are taken out of the package... Getting them on without ripping the crap out of them is a challenge for me on a good day. Always have to carry a spare pair or two if some numbnuts brushes against me and snags 'em. And they make my feet all slippery when I put my high heels on. And I walked out of a restroom in a really nice club with my skirt stuffed in the back of them.


Good for you though, none of those issues really come up in the bed room Although I prefer garter belt hose on those occasions.

Thank you for your reply. If it makes you feel any better, Take comfort in the fact that their are men like me out there that quietly enjoy seeing you wear them. If you get bored one night, put some on, give your significant other a pair of sissors and see what happens from there!

Where do you live that this is happening? The largest department stores around me have gotten rid of their stockings and the garter belts are really just for "show". Nothing that you can really wear for the full day, IMHO.
Then there are those damned thigh highs. While I have many pairs of them, if they aren't properly made, they fall down all day long.

All I see are pantyhose everywhere. Regular stockings have gone by the wayside. I have bought all the ones I've found at the largest Nordstrom in the DC area. LOL

Yep. I haven't tried garters but when you have to wear pantyhose, thigh highs rule.
