They've seen a LOT on the board and there isn't really much to excite them anymore. The newbies all tell the same jokes, they all have seen the same poles, and the same assholes are bantering back and forth with each other. Many people will also leave when they get flamed or whatever, so the ones who have been around the longest are usually tough.
