Where did drksideofhtemoon go

Well two things happened. Got tired of us and deleted his account, or is getting published and was told to remove the stories posted here. ;)

Actually our resident nutcase with delusions of grandeur aggravated him more than he was willing to deal with. When his requests to be removed from the man's stupid list were ignored, he said he'd rather remove his stories from the site. Haven't seen him around since.

As far as I know, neither of those - although he is published, I believe.

He was persecuted (like many other popular writers here) by a Lit member called 'scouries' who has been peddling spite and rudeness on threads here and on Story Feedback for a while. Check out the threads.

Drk politely asked to be left alone as all he wanted was to write his stories, get feedback from readers and give his own feedback to authors who asked on the Story Feedback forum. The offensively thick-skinned Scouries refused to listen to him.

Drk's departure is a great loss to Lit - as a writer (his Montana Summer series was superb writing), his critiques were incisive, constructive and well-received - and, perhaps most important of all, he was a charming and modest guy. (Yeah, I and quite a few others, really miss him).

It is a sad reflection that the site can allow a garrulous, bullying virus with little writing skill to drive a charming, popular and highly talented writer away. Together with free speech, we should equally campaign for respect of individuals' rights.

Sorry if I've been slow here... did Drk really get driven off by Mr S?

Well, yes.

He kept to his principles, gave a lot of newbies some great help, wrote brilliantly - but, reasonably, wanted to be left in peace. S, in his thick-skinned manner, upset the apple cart and Drk wanted none of it.

The trade off is, we have gained S and lost Drk.

Wanna start a petition? :D

Huh. Never thought of him as one who'd let a delusional bully get to him.

I second that emotion.

I mean WTF?

Drk was 4 times the writer and 5 times the man that that pencil dick from South Beach* will ever be! :(

Not to mention tucking his tail under and running. That's like a pug chasing a mastiff.

There must be something more to this than meets the eye.

(*That's Scouries for those of you that just tuned in :D )

Drk pulling Montana Summer may have been in response to scouries, but I seriously doubt that the following absence has anything to do with it.

I am one of the noobs drk helped...
I hope he will be back.
He gave me the confidence in my writing to keep it going, even though I still haven't posted yet argh...
He cared when things were not going so well for me. Gave me some lovely words. :rose:
He is a wonderful asset to lit.

He's been around. Check the NaNo thread. Scouries didn't run him off. He hadn't been around much before that whole thing happened.

Yes, he just posted yesterday. He's quite busy with NaNo.

But he is pulling all of his work.

:(
Thanks for the update, Sister Sarahh. Since Brother Moon is one of the most distinctive deacons at the First Church of the Burning Bush and Discount House of Lickers, his departure would be a blow to all the good work done by (and in) that fine organization.

Of course, we probably wouldn't run out of sacramental wine nearly so often.

It's sad he feels he has to pull his work but I'm glad he's not gone, Drk is a lovely guy :D

Damned if I understand why the bullshit on on or two stupid threads-- could actually harm a talented writer.

I really hate letting the fuckwads win this one.

Some folks thrive on controversy, others get tired of dealing with the bullshit.

This is to bad. He was one of my favorite Authors. Unfortunately I never got to read the last chapter of Montana Summer.

Send him a PM. He's very gracious.

I believe he's putting his works up on another site (those that aren't being published, I imagine).

:rose:

Nah. I think I saw on some thread awhile back that he pulled them to rewrite them, namely the Montana Summer early chapters (to bring them up to par with the later ones).

He asked scouries to remove him from that ridiculous list. He said if s did not, he'd pull the stories from Lit. S didn't, drkside did.

That doesn't make any sense to me, but I didn't see all the posts in that thread, so... I think something else is going on.

(lovely eyes, btw)

Thank you. :rose:

It does make me sad to think that is the reason he pulled that series, yes.

I hope everything is okay.

You're welcome. :)

Me too, if that's the reason.
