I just finished looking at the threads highlighted by Stella in this post

A while back, there was this thread
Which led to this one, and the magnificent results are chronicled here.

And I would love to see it happen again!

on Fallen Morgan's thread about backclicking.

So many names I remember from when I first started lurking here. So few still around...

I know.

It's sad. Discouraging, even.

So am I ... but back then I was only lurking silently in the shadows... while madly writing porn....

Hey!

One of my favorite reprobates!

Glad to see you're still around.

Oh so very true.

It's been 17 months since I came on board and there's been roughly a 64% turnover in AH regulars.

All of my mentors when I was a noobie have departed. :(

Real Life and The Big Sleep have taken their toll.

But the old order changeth, yielding way to the new.

Twas ever thus. ;)

Oh wait! I'm sorry! This thread is about the good people. I thought this was the thread "Where did all the reprobates go, long time passing?"

Jammies, Arienette, Honey, many others - I miss them. :(

Of course the immortal and yet all too mortal Colleen Thomas. :rose:

To absent friends - :rose:

I'm still a newbie, in a way, though I plan on being around for a while. Made it through the first year, at any rate. ;)

I've looked through some of the older threads. A couple of times, I went waaaaay back to the beginning, when Laurel actually wrote! :p

Like TE said, times change and so do people. But I hope the spirit of the AH is still alive and well.

Lou lou. I just started get to know that spunky little twat and then she was off to greener pastures. :( :rose:

...and dita and pops and raph and lew and mg and rhino and sabledrake and ds and sub joe and snoop and phildo and destinie and...

Eh, I better stop. Don't wanna make the newer people feel like they're chopped liver. ;)

On the other hand, when I look back at the threads i first posted in here on the AH almost 4 years ago, I'm surprised how many names I still see around. Sarahh, Lucky, Gauche, Ogg, Sher, Harold, Earl, dampy, svenska, Pure, Lauren, wishful, BT, Charley, Rob, Fool, McK, min, wso, Ed Teach, LP69, Darkness, Zoot, Zach, Box, EL... and that's just from scanning the first seven AH threads I posted in.

Some are still here all the time, some more sporadically. But they're at least still keeping in touch.

So I dunno.

I think it's human nature to miss the "old days" and I miss lots of people, too but I love alot of th newbies too *grins* and finally I don't feel like a newb any more. (I did up 'til very recently *L*)

Circle of life...I'd burst in to song, but, well, I love yous guys and I'd not torture you like that

I've been here almost six years and I still feel like a newb a lot of the time.

I've been here over a year now and didn't feel like a newbie till I read this thread.

Don't know where the good people are, I'm around but feeding the 10,000 this week.

Annual bread-bake in the centre of Lisbon till Sunday. So far we've baked and distributed 8,000 rolls, 2,000 slices of christmas cake, and served 4,000 cups of hot chocolate. Taking a day off today!

It's a great event. Started by the SO and the Portuguese equivalent of The Big Issue in 2004. It is now sponsored by a major bank, the Museum of Bread and a baking equipment manufacturer. The bank provides counter staff to hand out food and drink, I mostly sit around, take a few pictures  Entertainment is laid on, live bands, carol singers, cultural discussion etc, and the SO shows the children how to make bread. It is called 'Bread of All' - everyone is invited, though mostly we get the poor... so while the European leaders are signing the Treaty of Lisbon (all except Gordon Brown), we are feeding anyone and everyone.
