Where's everyone at? The election's over, let's all get back to the sex talk, come on :D

Give them a day or two, Alter. They might be wound up from the activities of the last few days...

Your Av seems to be doing just fine with or without sex talk. :D

In the interests of promoting sex-related conversation, has anyone seen Kevin Smith's "Zack and Miri Make a Porno?"

Nope, haven't seen it yet. Probably waiting for rental on that one

I've been a big Kevin Smith fan-hoping this isn't Gigli 2

*kicks tumbleweed as it tried to return*

Next topic?

Kevin Smith rocks, I loved his cameo in Die Hard 4 :D I bet he only agreed to the part if they refered to him as Yoda :p

What's your favourite genre of movie?

Very true-I also love the people he can get to perform in his films-for overall entertainment I still think Dogma rocks.

I'd say comedy-so many more possibilities-it's easier to add action or romance to a comedy movie compared to someone trying to be funny in an action flick or love story

If we were talking porn, I'd probably say solo female

You?

I love Dogma, it's my favourite by him :)

I'd have to agree with comedy, my favourites tend to be romantic comedies as the comedy is usually more realistic than say the slap-stick kind. Not that I don't watch slap-stick :p (Also like the silly ones like Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail)

As for porn, I'd have to say I like amateur.. anything that actually seems realistic. Hardcore is nice, I love watching penetration scenes.

He gets great performances out of his cast-Chris Rock is hilarious, so is Carlin, Salma Hayek looks great and Alan Rickman does a great job.

I like a good mix of comedies-Python is nice, sometimes something as silly as Airplane is good for a laugh and sometimes something like The Ladies Man or Wayne's World:D

Most of the female solo stuff is amateur-I like it because 99 times out of 100 the woman is really climaxing, which is important for me-it's also nice to watch two women self-stimulating together or helping each other-so long as it's real and erotic, it can be very enjoyable.

I think the key to his movies is that they are fun to act out, so his actors really want to get into the role. Some comedies are too forced. It's like a bad drama, the actor doesn't care enough, while a very serious drama with a damned good script is usually acted out better.

Can't say I know The Ladies Man offhand, but the rest I agree with :) I like Parodies too, but I have to have seen the original. Oh, Mel Brooks, hilarious :)

I don't watch enough porn, though I have been frequenting youporn a lot these days, it's all amateur, which is fantastic.

Mel Brooks is great-I think every student should have to watch History of the World. Makes me laugh every time.

-Your Majesty, you look like the Piss Boy!

-and you look like a bucket of shit!

:D

I tend to watch Abby Winters clips when I can find them on the net- not one for paying subscription fees

I've not seen that one yet! I have to get around to it. Blazing Saddles, Space Balls, Robin Hood Men in Tights.. love 'em!

History of the World, Part I is mandatory viewing, as far as I'm concerned.

Also, watch Brooks' version of The Producers, followed by the one with Broderick and Lane. Sheer genius in both!

Blazing Saddles is one I watch every time I see it on. It is offensive on so many levels, and he just didn't care!

I love how he references his own movies during his movies :p

"A black sheriff?"

"Why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles."

It's so egotistical, but it works!

And he is not egotistical at all, either. Just a reference that could make you see something different in that movie, based on your memory of the referenced one.

I don't think of it as egotistical, honestly. I think he tends to want to remind people of what he's capable of, so he drops references to other movies, to keep their minds looking for what he wants them to see.

Very much like Kevin Smith-bringing everyone from the other films into Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was brilliant. :D

especially Joey Lauren Adams from Chasing Amy-yum!

It's egotistical :p It's just funny when he does it ;) But I agree, I don't think he's an egotistical person, he does it purely for humour factor.

I think Kevin Smith emulates Mel Brooks a bit

Interesting thesis-I've always thought of him emulating Mel Blanc and Chuck Jones myself-I'll give that some thought.

Anyhow, I think I'm going to call it a night-it's been fun though-hope to see you around again, Ego :)
