.....people told me that Houston was big I thought I understood. I mean I'd seen the maps and seen it on TV. Being here I can say is I was not even close to grasping how big the city is. It is absolutely HUGE! There is so many places to go, so much to see, so much of the city to explore and that all means that there is so many ways for lil me to get lost.

Think this just might be an adventure for me.

Think it will take a bit of getting used to. I lived in a small college town....this is culture shock.

Yeah, but in the southwest, all the bigger cities are spread out like crazy. They're just physically huge.

Ah, more area as apposed to population...I see.

So do we include just that part within the city limits or does the metro area count?

I lived in Albuquerque for 4 years. Never did quite get used to it, though time and familiarity help.


Southwestern cities don't really have metro areas, do they? Albuquerque was just Albuquerque. *shrug* Nothing like Boston, where I'm from - much smaller area-wise, but with tons of suburbs and towns that are considered part of Greater Boston.

Interesting. I'm learning new things here.

I've only really ever been to Albuquerque and Austin, as far as real cities in the southwest go. And I'm going on what I personally know, which may be a bit of a generalisation... But I'm trying to be helpful.

Silly one! You are always helpful. Honestly, even if you don't know this city you know about this part of the country more than I do.
