Do you bring it to their attention?

Or file it away for later pondering?

I realize the depth of the lie would have a lot to do with your reaction.

If its something I knew was absolutely false and could most definately hurt someone to the extreme.... I would open my big mouth and bring it up...probably in a big way..

If it was a small lie... hmm probably file it away...because small lies have the ability to get bigger and bigger....and soon it blows up in their face.

So true.

I do like to give someone the opportunity to come clean about things before it gets to that stage.

It depends on the person and my relationship to them, as well as the nature of the lie.

If it was something like "I'm doing my taxes" to avoid doing something with me and I find out that they were really out on the town, then I probably wouldn't call them on it.

If it was something a bit more important, then I might.

Okay Okay..

You caught me... I am not really superman.. I just scarf fro thundercats...

If he person chooses to lie that is a road that they wish to choose... In life everyone will come to cross roads, but no one turning of the road is either right or wrong. For the time of that choice to move down a road, must have been correct in thought. Even if it was not correct in jugdement...

I usually try to ask them leading questions, trying to find out if it was a legitimate little error or an out and out lie.

Call 'em on it...honesty is too important in any relationship, be it friends or more, to have it be in question.

Hmm...interesting question JL...this just came up recently...a few times actually. I am finding that I must appear to be the stereotypical bubbly blond (though I'm a redhead) and lies will go over my head. One I decided to file away...not so much for later pondering but haven't decided if I want to address it at all. A more recent one I have addressed and the backtracking and covering up and bullshit that continued to spew forth just opened my eyes to the individual in question. Quite disgusted I must say. Thankfully I don't have all that much invested...personally and financially which is important when dealing with this issue I think. So with this one I chalk it up to a learning experience now that it has been put to rest.

It truly depends on the situation how I handle it. I'm a bit unpredictable that way...often the more intense the lie...the more calm I am. It gets kind of scary...for the one caught.

Are you wishing Elvis a happy birthday by using that av?:D

I would call them on it if I felt our friendship was in jeopardy because of it.

You are a warm, trusting person by nature. You're not looking for someone to lie to you for no reason.

I love it when someone underestimates my intelligence based on my haircolor. I often get to see the real person below the bullshit.

When I catch someone in a lie.. small or big and it happens often I general avoid that person as much as possible. If it is a lie that will end up hurting me or someone I care about I will confront them.

...Couple of reasons...yes...it's his birthday...and cuz the other has to be retired for a while for personal reasons...

...I beleive that any dishonesty jeopardizes a relationship...
