She'd forgotten her name, she'd known it once she knew, but she'd undergone so much degradation and name calling that she no longer recalled her own name. Her captors assured her that no one was coming and she would be better off starving herself. Somehow she felt that if she stopped eating they would win. She'd been beaten more times than she could count or recall, but no broken bones or sexual assault, as if she were being abused according to some idiots idea of fair torture.
She'd been kept seperate from the others, occasionally she could hear their screams and her captors reminded her that her cooperation made everyone get better treatment. She dimly recalled that she was not in the military, but why she'd been in a war zone was fuzzy. Her entire body hurt most of the time, and bruises concealed the true color of her skin.
She ran her fingers through the matted tangle of her hair and leaned her head back against the stone wall of her prison and cried. She had no sense of time, identity, but somehow she still had the will to survive. The last thing she expected to hear was someone else.
She wondered if it was another sick game, then again the cells around her had always been empty. The guards joked that she received special treatment.
