I just noticed that the discussion board is just 9,000 post from a million. How long do you think it will take to hit the mark?

The front page will register a million posts by midnight PST today. It's a moot point though, because Juspar Emvan already owns post #1,000,000.

(PS this is post #1,102,174)

This is a first - a post by Weird Harold that I don't understand. Why will the board register a million posts tonight, when Juspar has already posted the millionth post, and you're well past it with your post? Is this a time zone thing?

Lost Posts?

Were some of the posts deleted?! Is this a new part of the Enron scandal?

So tell me why, Weird Harold, that the # is incorrect at the top of the Forums?

Thenumber on the main forum index is the number of posts curenntly in the database. The post ID number is the number of posts since the database was created.

When posts are deleted, or old posts purged from the database, the number on the main page will change. Juspar posted the millionth post since the database was created, but the "millionth" post on the main page can come and go as the number of posts in the database changes through deletion or purging.

It's conceivable that we could reach one million todayor tomorrow and find that the day after there are only 500,000 posts available to read because Manu decided to purge the daatabase of message over a year old to speed things up.
