Rowling has been at the center of numerous cancel culture storms this year for her refusal to deny the reality of biological sex. Earlier this month she stirred up controversy by mocking Scotland’s law enforcement policy that allows accused rapists to self-identify as female. “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman,” she tweeted in reference to an article titled, “Absurdity’ of police logging rapists as women.”

She used to support trans rights and made a donation to a trans charity before she was 'cancelled'.

What she said is biologically correct and she added that people who want to be another sex should not be discriminated against, but their rights should not diminish the hard-won rights of women.

That was enough for some trans activists to ban her.

PS. The Guardian, a left-wing newspaper would have expected its readers to also cancel J K Rowling. That they didn't is an indication that the Guardian has misjudged its readers who are far more 'conservative' with a small 'C' than it is.
