When meeting in RL, how far do/would you go?

I know that one may get along great on the board, in PMs and email, and if lucky even on the phone. But what happens when you meet up in RL?

If you've met up with someone on the board, how was it? Did the two of you get along equally well as on the board? If being attracted, was the attraction still there?

If you've been having sexual chats, cybered or done phone, did you/would you hook up with the person in RL? Or how far would you go?

I have met two litsters in real time.

As with any other real life meeting that generates from the internet, meeting in real life is a "let's see what happens" proposition.

With my lit friends, we were meeting as friends and it worked out wonderfully.

I have met people fro the internet who I had "played with." While I was a bit embarrassed the first time this happened, he told me :

On line is on line and real life is real life. No judgements.

How far have I gone? I have never slept with a litster, but have slept with men I met on line.

Absolutely, provided I was getting the right messages. I mean I wouldn't go there expecting any such thing but if we mutually liked one another, I see nothing wrong with taking the next logical step.

I think the attraction was stronger when we met. Well at least on my end it was. Not sure on his. We get along rather well IRL.

We didn't have sex....but the second time we hung out we kissed

I've only met one person here IRL and I think anyone that knows me knows it was MaddyBaby. She's several hours from me, but I was in the area on business and that made it easy.

NO SEX - I guess I'm just not her type - LOL!!!

We had a wonderful time and have continued our friendship on and off line.

I met a girl in RL from a WebTv chatroom back in '98, lost my virginity to her. I traveled just over 2000 miles from Indiana to Ontario for the meeting. Looking back on the situation it was just about the dumbest thing I've ever done, but fourtunately for me it turned out well. She and I had chatted and swapped emails for a few months but the first time I saw her face or heard the sound of her voice was the moment she met me at my hotel. Since that incident I've played the female role in a similar chatroom/email relationship but vanished when he was getting anxious to meet me.

I live in Indiana and the farthest i've traveled to meet anyone was into Illinois I went to Michigan City once to meet a few people...but the farthest i've traveled would be 2 hours.

Right now we do have someone we brought to the board that we chat with a lot online and have done the phone thing with. We are planning to meet up and see how things go once schedules permit it.

I have discussed meeting one person here at Lit, IF the chance ever came for us to do so. We're pretty good friends, I think we still are, but I don't know how sex would make our friendship any better than it is.

Cyber/phone/chat is one thing entirely different from meeting in real life. For some RL meetings work great, others miserably, and still other such as me, are very leery of meeting anyone I don't really know all that well.

A long time ago... I used to go into this chat room and I met this guy there... he was very nice and we became fast friend. He was the 1st guy who I ever gave my phone # to ... we hit it off well on chat and even better on the phone. We talked for a while but then we stopped talking for some time. Later on he found me again and it was like we never stop chatting. The only thing was that now he was married.

He told me that when he was getting ready to get married he would think about me and wanted to see me. I thought he was joking with me but he said he was very serious.

This past April he came into Texas for some business meeting (he is from California) any ways he called me and asked if I would meet up with him. I was so tempted to go and meet him but then another part of me .. told me to leave things well enough alone. He is married and I should not be doing such things... there has always been such a strong sexual attraction between us ... and from his call it was obvious why he wanted to see me.

When I first started hanging out online (many moons ago ) I met someone online and he and I became quite good friends. We went to phone and altho he lived in Fla and I lived in Michigan, we talked at least once a week. That lasted for about a year and then we met in RL and we were even better friends, with an incredible sexual attraction, but circumstances were never right for us to hook up so nothing ever really came of it. It was only about a year ago that I last talked to him, and he was getting custody of one of his daughters and was getting married and his new wife didn't like him having female friends. So I haven't talked to him since. But every now and then, I call one of his co-workers to check up and see how he is doing.
I've yet to meet anyone in RL from Lit but that will change I'm sure. I have plans to meet a couple of people this summer, but am not looking for it to come to more than friendship. If that changes, I'll take it one step at a time, but online or in RL I'll always look for friendship first.

I flew from Indianapolis to Minneapolis where I rented a car and drove 8+ hrs one way to Ontario. I figured what the hell, had I not spent that time in transit I would have just been sitting in front of the computer anyway.
