when do you seed?

i'm just hoping it's not too late to throw out some clover and winter rye.

I put my winter ryegrass seed out just after the leaves start falls at a good clip and before the bulk of them fall. My logic being once they all fall and we get these rainy farmers weather days here in Georgia they are blanketed to germinate them. Then after all the leaves have fallen and roughly anywhere from 15 to 25 days later , weather permitting I mulch the leaves 🍁 mowing them with the riding mower.

It’s been working for me for years , the real key to a good looking winter eye yard here is some good consistent cold weather. It can start the day here in the low 40’s and be 80 degrees in the late afternoon this time of year. Insane but awesome at the same time.

A good looking winter yard is all white and requires no maintenance.

Neci should start a homesteading thread.

I, for one, would contribute my newfound love for the almighty luffa plant.

I seeded 400 acres of winter wheat this fall and this spring I'll see about 800 acres of spring wheat and barley. So I'd say fall and spring are good times to seed. :)

rosco told us to control our seed.

:(

meanwhile he was fucking every hottie on the gb.
